eyes "

"the girl with the green eyes!"

i feel like princess Liea....." i know...somehow... i've
always known"

^ Yes its obvious when you mention it but ive never made the
connection consciously, i guess its cos Hannibal Chew is
such a passive character and Lo Pan isnt, i love big
trouble the definition of a fun film

i'm amazed it was so tough to make the film and that
another will be made.

yes im not sure a sequel will has as much as an impact as i
think the mistake they will probably make is that they will
stick too slavishly close to the great look of the original
rather than try and think 50 years ahead like they did with
the original

problem with alot of modern sci fi films is that they always
kind of look like the interior of a mobile phone shop, there
isnt much innovation there, they are scared to take risks

50 years ahead. I think the future is gonna be less
flashy... and more earthy and solar panels and stuff as we
just try to survive. for the gen public anyways.

i wonder how much life was given to Rachel?

hi being in the sequel suggets he isnt a replicant because
he would be dead by now if he was a nexus 6 model. however
he could be playing a replicant of the original deckard and
not know he has died before

offline freqy on 2016-06-14 23:34 [#02497734]

maybe she would have aged along with Han.

perhaps they managed to bio engineer her to extend life, if
it was true to the original though she would be dead,
perhaps he managed to salvage some memory engrams, perhaps
he wants to make a new replicant version of Rachel, i know i
would

offline freqy on 2016-06-14 23:35 [#02497736]

but the age was given to workers i thought. whereas Rachel
was special and maybe so was han?

offline Hyperflake from Wirral (United Kingdom) on 2016-06-14 23:38 [#02497737]
Points: 30707 Status: Regular

yes its possible it was just a limitation imposed on
variants they didnt want to live long. I get the impression
it was applied to every replicant to avoid bigger issues
like android rights movements, if you gave one Replicant
full life it could conceivable start a movement to make all
replicants have full longevity and equal rights which would
work against the interests of the Tyrell corporation,

also near the end Gaff says "It's too bad she won't live"

he could be mistaken and she could actually be
experimentally long lived

yeah, like when kryten needed to shut down, so to sell the
latest model.
,
It appeared he had been working as a blade runner for many
years tho , seems like more than 4 years.

" i need the old blade runner i need your magic" or
something along the lines.

so either he isn’t one as he has some history, or some
were built to last longer...maybe.

Its why Blade Runner is great, the ambiguity that runs
through it, its fine to have your own personal
interpretation of what is actually meant.

My personal though is that Deckard is a real Human going
through a mid life crisis, having moral crisis since dealing
with very human life replicants, im guessing before nexus 6
models they were more obviously robotic and less empathetic

Now he is shooting what is for all practical purposes a
sentient being, he becomes a murderer thats why we see him
drinking a fair bit i reckon

certain things, final cut is very good

references.

yes it did, was a love letter to blade runner really, if you
think about it, even though its on a tight budget it takes
that used future/industrial look from blade
runner/alien/dark star.

I havent seen back to earth since it was on, i have it on
disc as well
