Stephen Hawking's space travel

"
was in New York for a serious purpose. With my
collaborators Yuri Milner and Mark Zuckerberg, I launched a
project to redesign long distance space travel. We propose
sending a fleet of light beam powered nanocrafts to our
nearest star, Alpha Centauri. This would be a revolution in
space travel – the tiny spacecraft would be able to travel
fast enough to relay information to us within a life time.
We could learn so much about our galaxy – and ultimately
ourselves. It is a huge project but we all agree it is time
to boldly go. I look forward to telling you more! - SH"

my brother has been talking to me about that on our sunday
walk, fascinating stuff, i was saying thats probably why we
havent seen any aliens yet as they are probably tiny mobile
phone shaped AI units spread over the entire observable
universe

i didnt know this was feasible, they are going to build
these massive array of lasers, and they will accelerate
these small craft to a large fraction of the speed of light
in a few minutes, i didnt know they could acclerate anything
that quickly

did you manage to watch all of series 8? i must admit i
struggled to watch series 7 and 8 since tonally it was such
a different show, it was more like on the buses than red
dwarf, i will have to watch it again to see if you opinions
have changed

There are some very funny parts in 7 and 8 but i prefer when
they are alone as the boys of the dwarf and weird aliens
turn up.

new series 11 should have been broadcast by now.

not sure why they are filming 11& 12 series in a row?

maybe its cheaper? maybe ...by filming 2 series they can
fine tune series 11 better before broadcast .. ass any
scenes or redo stuff ?

think its all the post production effects and cgi that takes
a while before series 11 is broadcast, think they are doing
2 in a row to save a bit on the production cost but im happy
cos i liked series 10 alot more than last 3

the last episode was a bit weird.

that thing Rimmer carried around all of a sudden. the
projector machine of his dad.

the simulant they all knew for some reason. That wanted to
duel across time and space. funny ...but, since when?

the internal logic of red dwarf has always been a bit weird
hasnt it, i know they have different on the amount of crew
on board and the amount of floors on the ship and stuff like
that

have you ever done the quizzes on the official site they are
quite tricky

yes hypie

but there were never any huge continuity thingies like this,
in the earlier seires?

if rimmer had to have a projector ..there should have been a
little dialog to say it arrived in the mail recently or
something.. I nearly spilled curry on my lap when that came
out.

do you have a test i may try? earlier series tests?

just found one, 20 questions.. im going in...

yeah , glad he was open minded about it. no mention of wtc7
tho.

That made 3 buildings come down in their own footprint.

offline Hyperflake from Wirral (United Kingdom) on 2016-04-24 01:25 [#02494946]

yes i have to say what are the odds of 3 buildings
collapsing in the same even, when no skyscraper has ever
collapsed via fire ever before, well dont think it has

im not totally convinced it was an inside job yet, however i
definitely think people are too easy to accept what is told
to them without thinking rationally first

im not sure the jenga analogy is helpful as a large building
is made up of many more component parts than a skyscraper
however i would say the way the towers fall does look very
uniform and vertical onto their own footprint, you would not
expect that from a random act

offline freqy on 2016-04-24 01:28 [#02494950]
Points: 18724 Status: Regular | Show recordbag

yes, its hard to know who...i mean the government may be
trying to protect the people or some of them may be
involved, hard to tell but there were definitely explosives
meaning someone got into the buildings.

Manhattan real estate is very expensive, bringing down 2
buildings full of asbestos would be a cheap way of doing it
and you get the pretext of invasion into the bargain, what
looked stage managed was how when it happened bush was
reading a kids book to a class room of children, whats the
chances of that
