what ive noticed with new generation of idm, especially
american idm artists is that they all try to do richard d
james style albums, major melodies with twee organs but like
2 octaves higher than they should, so it sounds like a kids
program incedental music but with fucked up drums

Idm just got to big. The modular hype. The vintage synths.
The mysterie is gone..its chewed, spit out and eaten again
and again.

Talking about the modular hype, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith's new
album - EARS - is a stunning piece of beauty. It is giving
me back my faith in modular electronics. Then again, I do
have a beard so don't take my word for it...

you like modular synths and you have a beard! you are
walking a fine line there me laddo,

feel free to call me what you want, its my fault really for
appearing like i have a horrible grudge to bear against
hipsters, i can look behind the beard and see what lies
beyond, beyond the beard

i have a sort of unkempt goatee beard myself, i look
probably semi homeless rather than a hipster, there is a
fine line there

My beard is really too short to make me pass as a hipster.
And hipsters all look like lumberjacks. I don't.

is Scandinavia rife with hipsters? do you get any black
metal types or is that more Sweden?

offline Co-existence from Bergen (Norway) on 2016-04-17 00:19 [#02494546]

I think we have our fair share of hipsters in the largest
cities. Oslo has its very own hipster ghetto, Grünerløkka.
Black metal types were pretty common in the nineties, we
don't see those much anymore. But what do I know...I live in
the countryside, so I only see the regular, unpretentious,
ordinary and average Ola and Kari Norwegian. Dull,
predictable and mostly reliable people...

I think Sweden is more hipster than Norway...

They are probably 400% more demanding as well...and I
nervously look over my shoulder writing that...
