o.k guys this is an electronic forum but... i found out there is a hell lot more than these attacks. more than 5 a day, >28 thousand+ attacks< since 9/11 28000 + Anyone hear of these? Our news papers generally show pictures of football stars who got drunk and did something rude....and so forth. |

i thought i'd never see a thread about suicide attacks in iraq or elsewhere but the west. good on you, freqy. it's always the weakest people that gets targeted, whatever religion they profess. |

It gets a cursory mention on the news then is swiftly swept under the carpet, distance from event seems proportional to how much media attention something gets. |

The attacks in Ankara were an attack on Turkey, a local problem. The attacks in Pakistan are an attack on Pakistan, a local problem. The attack in Iraq is an attack on Iraq, a local problem. The attacks in Brussels were an attack on the much maligned "the West" or at least Europe, therefore have broader implications. It's an attack on "us" (those of us who identify as belonging to "the West"), it was not particularly designed as destabilizing specifically Belgium. If people are a bit numbed as to what Pakistanis are capable of, I'd blame the actions of Pakistanis rather than everyone else's response to it. And to think, that country's got nuclear weapons. |

did you know the behind the ankara bombing there was a pretty girl (not bearded). a kurdish fighter (who can't even speak for peaceful kurds)? who would you blame if a suicide attack was performed from white to white? given your considerations, i do wonder what would you do if you want to fight terrorism globally. |

thats a lot of people its morbid to compare death by numbers, but these are still small in relation to hunger and "straight up"military conflicts and civil wars, which dont even get enough coverage as they are not "local" and of little importance to westeners. not to forget all the people missing around the world for standing up for theirs or live in mob countries, cause the west is too proud to produce its drug consume on its own. its sick, all of it. there now you got me started, im pretty sure folks in finance stay up to date more. |

Among other things I find it ironic that a country that's so desperate to join Europe obviously doesn't have the first idea about Europe, apart from maybe what it can get out of it for itself. |

i remember that word from school and liking it but there was no living room to discuss that where i come from i'll tell you what it is reality though. it's that the majority of 'us' europeans grew up in a popular, racist and fascist culture hating on jews, blacks, roma, and ultimately arabs. i don't think anyone will ever bother to read humanism on wikipedia, even with the internet at disposal. |

How old are you? Europe isn't really fascist, and probably far less racist than other continents - hence the pathetic mess of PC driven ideology of a common currency and climate in a european community filled by countries unaware of the the fact they are still out for themselves, nominating what other countries should pay and do for problems they aren't keen on individually. I hope Britain votes out of Europe, and Scotland are dumb enough to ditch Britain for even less independance. Lets see how Germany copes playing mum to a Europe they wanted to dominate not so long ago. |

The attackers specifically said they were targeting Christians. They let off the bomb mainly where kids were. Of course the dozy fucking idiot's bombs didn't discriminate but it was specifically targeted at Christians at Easter. In a largely muslim country I guess some muslims are going to get killed in an attack like that as well. Unlike a mosque or some islamic talk at a university I don't think this event was segregated. |
