the chords are good i think and it hits very certain spots
emotionally. the clap is actually not a clap sample but
strong acid resonance

offline AMPI MAX from United Kingdom on 2016-02-12 22:13 [#02492181]

most the melodies are made by transposing things in 7ths and
5ths and randomising midi sequencing in the few ways
available. so it comes out kind of clunky and simple but
with variations. sounds boring to me and feel im overdoing
it. really into low deep sinewave kick bass and that is
being over stressed too. what you think freqy

It's unique, interesting, usually stumbly yet cohesive which
I guess means it has odd time signatures probably. I don't
even know how to make music so congratulations on.. sigh..
having the patience to stumble around in.. fruity loops...
or whatever, and getting snagged on every jagged VST
trialware popup, and.. saving these large ass files that
probably have some buttholish extension, and the program is
probably all web 2.0 and crashes so you have to save
constantly, and it's all just a pile of fucking piano rolls
and all this fucking overly graphical horse shit that makes
you feel like shit just navigating around, watching 7 god
damn hour long youshit tutorials on how to use the god damn
vocoder, just makes you squint and grimace and snarl just
thinking about this fucking bloated proprietary software
hell somehow melded into this clusterfuck maze of windows,
all this putrid clicking you have to do, fucking hours and
hours of effort just getting your brain to align with the
mindfuck paradigm of whoever created whatever rube goldberg
gizmo you're trying to use, I mean how many fractals deep in
the menu you need to get before even accessing it, I mean it
is all a pile of fuck. But I mean if you enjoy interacting
with all this SHIT, then go to it man, have fun.

It's cool in an vintage Black Dog, techno orient way. I
particularly like the 1st, 4th, 6th and 7th tracks, the 4th
one especially, that sounds the most "whole" rather than
bits put together. I'd be interested to hear them in full
versions and if they were sequenced in this way.

Believe me, it's not faint praise when I say these "aren't
awful". This does sound like old Black Dog, old Detroit, old
Irdial, but that is by no means A BAD THING. If this was an
ep, mastered nicely, I would buy it. As long as your artist
name isn't Ampi Max. I'm not having a fucking record by
"ampi max" in my peerless fucking collection.

attaxxo is a stupid name. But that doesn't sound like
classic black dog at all... classic black dog is irregularly
pasted pieces of drum patterns into relatively simple loops.
And I just listened to plaid not for threes after a long
time... it is really crap... it's hardly idm at all and all
the chosen sounds and constructions are homosexually gay. I
mean otto von schirach 8000 bc eats if for breakfast and
digests it in 8000 robot intestines. "attaxxo" or whatever
is like organic odd time signature stuff. probably black dog
only seems odd time signature cuz the irregular pasting, but
it's probably mostly pasted into like a 16 or 32 unit loop
or whatever. Yeah. Who cares.

I think they all share a similar aesthetic especially with
the drum sounds, and it all sounds like you. I'd be okay
with it being crusty and flattened, though more clarity than
what we have in these samples would be welcome!! I think
5.19 is my fav. It has the weirdest groove and emotional
atmosphere combo.

I find it hard to give honest constructive criticism when
it's short samples taken out of context of the track. The
sounds themselves are all juiicy and crunchy and nice but
It's difficult to say if something is being overdone when
it's all kind of jammed together. Based on hearing them
this way, it sounds quite busy overall.

It all sounds fucking great! :)

music. Absolutely love the vintage sounds in the last track!

signatures or anything its just swingy patterns but i know
what you mean it has that kind of movement to it
