contemplating is rather relaxing around old sites.

away from tv and radio....no buzzing sound from a PSU or a
flickering artificial light.

just natural light and sound, birds (hopefully with cars way
in the background)

I went to carlise castle and you can see this 10th century
graffiti some prisoner has etched on his cell wall, like a
wild boar or something, and in the dungeon where they kept
people in the dark there is this window that is worn down
from centuries of prisoners licking it for moister, very
atmospheric places castles, i know i sound like alan
titschmarsh, but you can feel the history

sorry yeah moisture, the dark ages and medieval times lots
of heinous acts, what i always think is those type of people
with the mentality to torture someone with thumbscrews or
whatever must still be around, where are they now? probably
the stock exchange or the local council

I saw the instruments of torture the spanish inquisition had
when i went to pensacola in spain that one time, its seemed
that they delighted in thinking of new ways to torture us,
they could probably apply to be the controller of radio 1
nowadays

i cant spell moisture either. : )

some where in the far east hek , maybe even in the
west...they used to cut people up alive in various different
ways just to see how the body worked..

eg: can they remove a liver? how long can the person stay
alive? chop an arm off... can they put it back on? or stitch
it to their chest ...with it regrow after fire application?
y know really nasty stuff all while the person is awake.

there is a video on it on youtue. makes me wanna puke.

yes i think the new definition of human shouldnt just be if
you breath or walk or perspire or whatever, i think your
only human if you have some sort of decent level of
empathy,

now da vinci on the other hand he only did his observations
on corpses as far as i know and they are really stunning
drawings, i would have loved to have picked his mind, be
most of his interesting ideas he never wrote down cos he
worried people might have thought them silly

its one of the only films that makes me emotional, cos you
really get a sense of the stupidity and indifference that we
are cursed with, plus the robots are really lovable, weird
how you personify a machine, if you can get attached to a
movie robot in 90 minutes imagine what the future is going
to be like

definitely saw the red dwarf connection

One scene, DNA as kryten laughs. in the movie there is the
same thing as you see outside the ship and hear the laughter
echo around.

and there is an observation dome in thanks for the memory.

i wish more people saw it too.

plus the skutters are like the robots in silent running
and a couple of episodes Lister rides around in a
trike

and the feeling of isolation you get that too

a bathrobe like Bruce Dern's outfit and pot some plants

from reading about Red Dwarf there other influence is the
film Dark Star by Dan O bannon, John carpenter which was a
precursor to Alien

pretty good. strange to have a short film before. maybe they
didn’t have loads of ads back then.

rememebr that cinema jingle vocal that use to come on before
a film?

like...pah pah..pah pah pah pah pah pah pahpahpah

also just thought of the big similarirty of silent running
and red dwarf

rimmer would say "oh THAT!! ( justice)

he also killed all the crew. lol.

^ just read paddy kingsland did the sound effects, and the
cackling old man was the old man from life of brain who was
due to get stoned to death.

I know the jingle you refer to yeah pa pa

im not sure where i heard it though cos im too young to have
seen it in the cinema, its one of those culturally
ubiquitous things now

" Who would put this man, this joke of a man, a man who
couldn't outwit a used tea bag, in a position of authority
where he could wipe out an entire crew? Who? Only a yoghurt.
"

you can get old cinema projectors from like 10 years ago on
ebay cos the bulbs have a limited lifespan but when they
came out the units worth like many thousands of pounds but
they are practically worthless now

still hoping for a new blackadder, almost happened a year or

Yeah i remember reading years ago that it was going to be
set in the 60s, i wouldn't mind a new blackadder, but i get
the sense as people age like Ben Elton or Richard Curtis the
anarchic streak leaves them they become objectively less
funny as their brain doesnt work quite the same way, id love
to be proved wrong, i remember the back and forth thing
wasnt very good

funny book

"Binky, a sentient bionic doglike being, is in search of
friends when he meets Merlin the Magician and a young King

does anyone on here read many books?

bionic dog sounds like fun..

i always meant to read ben eltons popcorn.

popcorn was a movie too, i was meant to see that too.

i think as some comedians get old the timing slows down a
bit.
they improvise a little less and the canned laughter is then
turned up.

funny, well for me personally, obviously i still love humour
but maybe its a generational thing i dont find 99% of
comedians around funny now, i suppose i know how my parents
feel now

good one. : )
reminds me of lee evans, he runs about the stage too.. live
at wembley was awesome i think he's retired now..

comic strip presents. is cool
4 men in a plane is a good one , not hysterical , just a
funny movie. (has nigel planner rik ade and peter
richardson) worth a watch if you can find it. ( mr jolly
lives next door if you like the extreme rik ade stuff, it is
very funny)

there are a few modern comedians i like , but i dont like
them as much as rik or stephen fry, john cleese, laurel,
hardy or Kenneth Williams and so forth
i think these hit the main frequencies of my preferred
comedy rainbow...everyone else now has to fit in between,
that aint easy. There are a few i like but i cant remember
their names. they are not all time greats anyway.

^he does come across as smug i suppose but he is good,
generally though i laugh at things that arent contrived,
like my mate Colin has a really weird vocab cos he didnt
really speak until he was about 4 he says the funniest
things but he is just being himself, and my my mutters to
herself and that makes me laugh, she is very neurotic and it
can be quite funny
