meast disc 3?

sounds good, but also sounds like it might be a rough mix.
some of those synth lines are terribly loud.

Love how Mike P dealt with Nautilus (former planet mu
artist) on facebook

N was ranting about Mike P, Mike P treated him like a piece
of shit

Was fucking funny, wish I had a screenshot

Feel a little sad for N though, his music was pretty good.

Reminds me of the time Jega came online and started dissing
Tom Jenkinson for being a spoilt rich kid

needs mastering, some of the tracks are tinny

think he masters stuff himself on a pc, or at least
pre-masters it himself

still, it's infinitely better than v/vm, kid 606, and most
of the other shit that was out early 2000s

yeah its of its era, i quite like that, some is very
abrasive on the shrimp track, dontr know if its intentional
or not

19 sales * £8

£152

bandcamp kicks arse for artists, really good at bringing in
cash direct to the person who made the tracks

yeah, it makes me happy to think if i buy something they
might go and buy some kitkats or something from tescos with
the cash

jiggery panky - enjoying this one, has some go plasticy
echoes before go plastic was even made

yumm - nice beats and the melodic spacey stuff is whirling
around to good effect

mikep was on a chatroom before talking about ceephax, said
he was given ceephax stuff but made him go back and change a
few things, this was years ago. it was around the time of
the planetmu ep that ceephax changed his style, wonder how
much was due to mikep's influence. mike said something like
he wasnt into "tracky acid" much. shit i really like teh
tracky acid stuff ceephax was making back in teh day.

ice nine pt 2 - sounds like digital hardcore / dj scud type
of distorted beats

fuck me, tracks 9-11 are the best ones so far

oh yeah megalift i remember that one, i ordered that
directly from ceephax he sent me two copies of something
else instead, he must have been off his head that day

mikep is good with beats and arrangements and stuff but this
digital edge to his tracks makes it sound a bit dated.
analogue shit like drexciya ages like wine, still sounds
fine.

offline Hyperflake from Wirral (United Kingdom) on 2016-02-04 18:13 [#02491904]
Points: 31007 Status: Lurker

wonder what his setup was at the time, i love the analogue
sound and it cant be beat, just such a hassle to use
sometimes, mostly wires getting everywhere,

p

he aint gear obsessed, thats a good thing in a way

offline Hyperflake from Wirral (United Kingdom) on 2016-02-04 18:28 [#02491906]
Points: 31007 Status: Lurker

yeah definitely not a gear head, i like to think you can get
a lot out of what you have, then on the other hand when i
saw the gear list for syro for example i was like it would
be the ultimate dream but then again i dont think id have
the knack to get the best out of all that stuff so, i just
stick with what ive got

mikep, squarepusher, wish theyd just multitrack one little
vintage monosynth, would sound really good because they know
what they're doing

none of the big names followed analord, they all stuck with
digital

offline Hyperflake from Wirral (United Kingdom) on 2016-02-04 18:39 [#02491910]

yeah, bit of a missed opportunity really

pretend analogue from soundcloud is a good example of how
you can fake it to a certain extent with external mixing,
the timbre of the sounds isnt quite as detailed as analogue
but the mix gives em more depth than u usually hear from
plugins and stuff

offline Hyperflake from Wirral (United Kingdom) on 2016-02-04 18:44 [#02491913]
Points: 31007 Status: Lurker

dont know if they will ever get to a level where a plugin
simulates the varying sound of components with slight
different tolerances within analogue gear, but i hope there
will be some improvement cos when you listinen to a digital
sound file of something with analogue gear it sounds fine,
all the information is there, so its obviously a issue with
the source sounds

roland did circuit simulations on their tb8 drum machine,
sounds pretty good

oh right had no idea, its funny in a way that they are
deliberately adding imperfections back into the machine, but
thats what makes it not sound artificial

tango is a good one, especially the one with 2 cds, i like
in pine effect a lot, lunatic harness has some great tracks,
his soundcloud has a load of good stuff on worth digging
through

what did they give it out of π? or whatever arbitrary scale
they have nowadays, their reviewers are the most

LAZY_TITLE

i think it might have been the last paragraph on here,
rather than if he liked it or not that doesn't bother me,

I don't want to judge their mediocrity, and they're allowed
they're say.

It's how influential they are that frustrates me.

"they're say"...

Though in France id' probably be allowed that mistake now.

dont like, thats my astute observation
