after many years of extensive research and experimentation,
i have finally cleared up one of the most amazing
unexplained mysteries of our time!

Yes, the mystery of the infamous Aphex Twin "A" (or: "7\",
if u will), has finally been solved!
its quite simple really...

7\ = Lamba

---> Lamba is the scientific term for the length of a wave
(wavelength)
(the distance from one peak on a wave to the next peak)

in fact it doesn't even have to be a sound wave!
actually.. im surprised it hasn't come up before (unless it
has, in which case, dont i feel embarassed)
u learn it in grade 12 (and now 11) physics here

The Aphex logo has nothing to do with richard. It was
designed independantly by this guy....

http://www.p21.co.uk/

He used to dance for Aphex when he first started playing
live!

He designed the Aphex logo and he stillmakes the t-shirts.

yeah, I emailed the guy a few years back and the logo was
more or less made up by random by just messing aound...

No no real meaning behind the design, I'm afraid & thats
from the designer himself...(I won't embaress myself by
telling what i thought it was...maybe oneday)...

-an A
-a lambda
-a person fucking another person doggystyle
-the yellow pages fingers logo
-a dj working a turntable
-nothing at all

and, it means WAVELENGHT! (fairly relevent for a MUSICIAN,

yes yes, your theory... maybe Lambda was the inspiration...
who knows... I remember reading that it was supposed to be A
and T, but I still can't see that...

right, we're talking about the round SAWI logo....yeah...

Hold Case in hand and turn 45 degrees cockwise so it in your
hand diagonally...

And, I see a stylised version of the half of AFX's face (the
young version with hair to shoulders...)...you can see his
eyebrow(with that dip for his eye) & the the other bits
being the hair....

Ignore the circle...

My girlf sees this as well...is it the drugs or is there
something in it?....

(am I still amazing..;)...

P.S. Email the guy at prottype about the font...he may be
able to help out....

Ha, ha. Thanks jand. I know the guy from Prototype 21. His
first t-shirt was prototype-21, in the same pseudo font.
It's a freestyle font that was based on Brody(the FACE etc.)
and Graffiti.

+

You are still Amazing!

the a and the t are really easy to spot, thats the first
thing i saw. it's like half of a t , and an a with out the
middle line going across all the way... COMBINED. it's not
that hard.

I like AMinal's theory.
Maybe Aphex is a play on the word apex in which case it
would make even more sense.

OK, I know the symbol debate is done, but in some article
about fonts and logos, I read that the Aphex symbol is the
international symbol for DJ at work.

I'm sure that was made up for the article.

paper in a can.
it also looks like an "A" and a "T".
OR a man playing the keyboard.

maybe you didn't get it from me,
but, it still is a mystery.

we should ask afx if it is the lambda symbol?
hopefully he won't an asshole fucker about it, and lie.

well i never saw that topic (or at least ur post in it)
didn't mean to steel it from you

btw:
its not necessarily light
it could be light...sound...energy..(which light/sound are),
basically anything that travels in waves

i have always thought its a boomerang
if you just delete the left leg of the A and its it wood
have great grip for throwing

it's lambda, not lamba, AMinal. : )

and i think RDJ was hanging out in the woods, and suddenly
saw an UFO with a bright light coming out of it, so he
approached the UFO and an alien divinity came out and talked
to RDJ in these words: "Richard D. James!! By This UFO, You
Have Found The Light!! I Will Teach You The Magical Sign Of
Musical Power Which Will Bring You And Your Music Fame And
Glory!!", and then the alien divinity said a magical formula
and the ( 7\ ) logo appared before RDJ's very own eyes!! So
RDJ used that sign for his music, and the power of the sign
made the music become great!!
