mad... max... ? Did you see the part when he's facing away from the camera yet knows to crush a lizard with his foot? There is no logical explanation for this, what did people in this time period acquire echolocation to pinpoint lizards without looking at them? Do they even dig any damn wells to get water? Why do they disperse water via waterfall with 95% waste? Does anyone seriously think that "guzzleine" would catch on as a word to replace gasoline? All this fiction is concocted by a committee of idiots, the biggest idiots of all getting the lead roles as actors and the most pay. Watch a real movie, "hombre" with paul newman. There the main character is a believable silent loner, not this grunting idiot. I think I only went to the cinema three times this year, Spectre (twice, I'm such a Bond-slag) and The Force Awakens ( I will go and see it again, at least once) - both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. I saw "Avengers Age of Ultron" on a plane and managed to make it to the end. I really am a cultural dead-end. I don't really ever know what's on, so I usually see things about 2 years after they're out. Films that I have enjoyed this year on Netflix but that came out 2 years ago have been Cohherence (2013), Snowpiercer (2013) and The Last Days on Mars (2013) - though with the exception of Coherence, aren't exactly classics. |

I take all my nerdy film advice from Comicbookgirl19. Check het out if you want guidance. She recommends for instance Dredd, which is a big fav of mine. I liked her Ex Machina review and just any review of what I've seen. And, this year, I really liked her Mad Men review. I dunno, but it's so nice to see there's someone out there (who's not an idiot) that loves Sally Draper too. Vulture does too, actually. For me this was also the year of seeking out more about stuff that I liked. I check my paper and reddit. Mostly it was a year abouy series, though. I do recognize the art of film, though. Also I like that I can't pause it to browse. 2016 will be the year of: no I'll really won't go see that Marvel movie. |

I liked Dredd a lot. I didn't get it at the beginning as it was quite low-key, but then I realised how well they'd done Dredd and the whole... Megacity universe, and how they understood it better than I did. I was never a huge fan of the comics, though I did like it. I used to have a really cool board game of it, though of course I never had anyone to really play it with. Like a lot of people, I really liked the Death Judges, and that idea of an inverted world... I digress, yes, Dredd was a great film, and if Comicbookgirl19 likes it I trust het judgement. |
