OK honestly...how many of you have put the 2 Remixes by AFX
into your cd player upside down.

I did.

One of my friends has a high-end cd player that requires you
to insert the disc label side down...it's crazy.

in the flip-top cd players, I have put one on top of another
and played it. I wondered what was wrong when I heard the
wrong cd playing. I was surprised that it played at all.

I don't get why movie theatres aren't using dvd's, for
clarity and ease of use

offline Zen Storm from St. Charles (United States) on 2002-04-18 02:37 [#00181040]

not that they would have to record movies on dvd's but they
could transfer the tape to cd

offline xlr from Boston (United States) on 2002-04-18 02:46 [#00181049]

well, the resolution on a dvd is about 525 lines, which is
nowhere near that of 35mm film....so it would look pretty
bad on a large format screen.

my pops has an old cd player where you have to load cds
upside down.

the laser is on the opposite side.
its a really old cd player, from around when they were first
coming out

they are actually... well the smaller theatres anyway...
that's why it's possible to get hold of DVDs months before
the film is released on DVD... IF you know the right people

on the album "Much Against Everyone's advice" (not the
special edition one) by soulwax, if u rewind from the 1st
track there's a secret song!

35mm

I've put in Autechre's LP5 in upside down. But only to see
what would happen. And. 35mm film does look better. And you
can rewind the 1st track of Psyence Fiction by Unkle.

DVD resolution is roughly equivalent to 16mm film. There is
no consumer video format that is equivalent to 35 or 70 mm.

upside down. When it starts playing the 1st time i get all
happy

at tv size viewing dvd is an advantage, none of the
hairballs or whatever that shit is you get with film. the
lesser resolution just doesn't matter until you enlarge it.

The silverthingie on a DVD is close to the bottom, and makes
it posible to have two sides. But a CD has the silverthingie
almost at the top. So a doublesided CD would be about as
double as thick, wich i dont think a CDplayer can handle.

And because of that it is more dangerous to scratch a CD on
the lableside (cus you could destroy the silverthingie) than
the bottom, wich sometimes could be fixed.

a friend of mine has a cdrom drive and when u put a cd in it
upside down it goes totally outta control (you can hear a
vvvvwwwwzzZZZZZZZZz) and when u open the drive while its
grunzing the disk still spins around like hell and launches
itself... whahahahahha its great fun whatching disks perform
suicide -> its not that good for your cd's

When you put in a Richard Devine cd upside down ,a hologram
apears in the form of a little pig and give you lots of cool
music apz!!!

Beware !! this only happens once!!
If you try again the cd will explode and a lethal nervgas
will spread and kill everyone in your neighbourhood.
