^your right Putin wont start a war over one plane, its interesting to see Turk be so antagonistic towards Russia, sort of like kicking a hornets nest, i think what will happen is that Russia will just send more jets to the area now

Unsurprisingly I fucking hate Turkey politically. I have worked in a Turkish run company and, I don't know if it's a national trait, or just an aspect of human nature they've overdeveloped, but their capacity to tell you it definitely is raining whilst it's blatantly obvious that they're pissing on you is second to none.
Turkey are pissed that the Russians are targeting ISIS oil which Turkey is buying cheaply. Turkey is ISIS's friend, and is used for smuggling and importing recruits from all over the world. ISIS allows Erdogan bomb some troublesome peace protesters just before the election and blame it on them so that the country believes they need a "strong man".
Turkey wants to join Europe. For some batso reason I need to investigate, Britain wants Turkey to join Europe (Blair very much so, lightweight Cameron as well). As part of their deal to stop facilitating migrants leaving from their shores to Europe they want visa restrictions relaxed on Turks going to Europe. One way or another, they're all coming to Europe.
Bottom line. We need to take back Constantinople.

Mainly I think he'll use it for political capital and give one of his tsking, finger wagging speeches at the UN and shame the west over how Erdogan was funnelling support to the "moderate" rebels in Syria. Tsk tsk, shame on you guys playing chess on the grand chessboard, as though he weren't doing that too.

Well cheap oil is partly / mainly why Russia is in this. Russia's whole economy is dependent on oil exports. They want Syria as their client state in the ME. ISIS won't be anyone's client state and won't attend OPEC meetings to set price targets.

haha there he goes
“Today’s tragic event will have significant consequences, including for Russia-Turkish relations ... Instead of immediately getting in contact with us, as far as we know, the Turkish side immediately turned to their partners from Nato to discuss this incident, as if we shot down their plane and not they ours.”
“Do they want to make Nato serve ISIS? ... We hope that the international community will find the strength to come together and fight against the common evil.”

erdogan has badly misjudged and mistimed this... just when Russia and Nato / EU were finding some rapprochement on ISIS after the Paris attacks, he goes and does this. It will make him a pariah, not a cause of the west.

One would think so ... but Nato will need to reframe this type of rhetoric:
Nato ready to 'defend' Turkey as Russia strikes Syria
Alliance’s secretary general, Jens Stoltenberg, makes comment after violations of Turkish airspace by Russian jets conducting airstrikes in Syria
Reported on Oct 8
It remains unclear which way this cookie will crumble, e.g.,
Britain’s foreign secretary, Philip Hammond, has accused a Labour MP of being an “apologist for Russian actions” after questions were raised in Parliament about Turkey’s reliability as a British ally.

Ah, that puts Putin's comments about Nato in a clearer context. What he's probably looking for here is some immediate rhetoric censuring Turkey and expressing solidarity with Russia. I mean, he's practically written and delivered the script of what he wants to hear.

I expect some real military show of force on the part of the Russians, they will probably shoot a few cruise missiles above Turkish airspace in to Syria now or something like that, Putin will want to show that pro active persona he has, that my guess anyway, interesting article that, even though i dont particular like him i think Putin isnt a reactionary he is quite intellegent

Seymour Hersch - The Red Line and the Rat Line, Apr 4
Barring a major change in policy by Obama, Turkey’s meddling in the Syrian civil war is likely to go on. ‘I asked my colleagues if there was any way to stop Erdoğan’s continued support for the rebels, especially now that it’s going so wrong,’ the former intelligence official told me. ‘The answer was: “We’re screwed.” We could go public if it was somebody other than Erdoğan, but Turkey is a special case. They’re a Nato ally. The Turks don’t trust the West. They can’t live with us if we take any active role against Turkish interests. If we went public with what we know about Erdoğan’s role with the gas, it’d be disastrous. The Turks would say: “We hate you for telling us what we can and can’t do.”’

lucas story is absolutely excellent and beautiful. the mystical spiritual side of the originals is so perfect. he should have made ep 7 8 9 in the eighties with the original cast, 100's of millions of kids wanted it. and adults too.
hey i hope ep7 will be fun. not long now : )
