My whole life has been a lie

I just found out my favorite loop in dance, the one that
started my love for the genre, is heavily inspired by
another track.

Compare KLF- What Time Is Love (pure trance version) with
Anne Clark - Our Darkness.

Of course KLF (Kopyright Liberation Front) will say the only
lie is copyright.

Really there is no problem: I love the Anne Clark track.

I never knew this. My life has been a lie too.

There's plenty of tracks that aped "What Time Is Love" after
the KLF, and they even had the gall to release an album of
those "tributes", The "What time is love?" Story - but there
was no room for the Anne Clark or Jesus Christ Superstar
originals.

Shit. I took a walk round central London today, for the
first time in ages, and so many places I used to frequent or
know have gone now. What time is it all over?

Are you thinking of the "Acid Brass" version? The 2K
Millennium version? The "What Time is Love? Story" is a
compilation of dodgy Italian WTIL inspired tracks plus a
"live" version by the KLF themselves. I used to have it on
tape but it was largely unlistenable. Probably would sound
ace today!

This track did too for me start my love for dance music.
Before it I liked Art of Noise, and film soundtracks, and
some other stuff like Big Audio Dynamite, New Order, Age of
Chance, OMD,.. there are others. But it was on the way to
Glastonbury 1990 and I was in a VW van with everyone else
asleep apart from the driver, and he had a portable stereo
wedged between the front seats, and as we drove through the
night in the countryside there came this spooky refrain...
duh-da duh-da duh-da duh-da do-do dah (repeat) and I knew
what music could be.
