A macro sentience wouldn't negate whether we were sentient so I'm not sure I understand 'only one.'. You can say your own sentience is an illusion based on sound reductive reasoning but at the same time just because something is emergent from constituents of a different ontological nature doesn't make the emergence an illusion. Rather it adds additional layers of dimensionality to what is real. In regards to collective consciousness I think it's almost demonstrable that we form little smart networks that are almost like a macro mind or form of AI. Consider that we ourselves are basically an organized network of bacteria and simple organisms. However whether the universe thinks and feels as mother nature and we are all its little brain nodes is something that would require a bit of demonstrating. |
