What do you know about dreams

What do you think they mean, or how do you relate them to
your states of mind?

I had a dream this night of a cat companion. She changed her
size in various situations. She was very dependent on my
nurturing. I realized this near the end of my dream because
I dropped her once (she was ok, and it is just a dream), and
I forgot to give her adequate hydration. I took her to
school with me. She very much enjoyed being curled up in my
arm or on my shoulder. Made me think about two very dear
cats that I had while growing up. I socialized them both so
well.

Me I think dreams contain all the hallmarks of one's
development. Nothing more nothing less. I kinda would like
to know more about Jungian interpretations on dreams though

I had a strange dream last night. I met Tom Jenkinson on an
online forum. He treated me like shit for 5 years. Finally I
made an album taking the piss out of him and uploaded it to
bandcamp. A few days later, he died. The morning I read
about his fall, I went to eat a big breakfast at the local
hotel. It was the best breakfast ever. I took my headphones
and listened to all his albums that I found on the
thepiratebay.se then I praised God as a worker of miracles.

No idea what the dream meant.

Last night had a WICKED dream. I logged onto Xltronic and
instead of this messageboard it was a 3d racing game like
Xtreme G 64 for Nintendo 64 but it was on PC with brand new
graphics. I'm racing down the track against the other
members of Xltronic but I got bored so I turned around my
big black spaceship then started racing backwards down the
track crashing into everyone. Then everyone got pissed off.
Then they got out of the cars and started shooting me so I
jumped out of the spaceship/car and I was flying but
everyone was fucking shooting me. So I shot back FPS style
and took out as many including helicopters and shit as I
could but in the end they got me and I died but it was only
a game. Very satisfying dream. Lucky it was all just a
virtual reality inside of a dream.

Last night I read again HP Lovecraft's "Beyond the walls of sleep"
(for my birthday last year I got a wonderful *complete*
collected works of Lovecraft, even his stabs at comedy and
whimsy). The more I get to know myself though, the creeping
suspicion arrives that, unlike the majority of readers, I
read his work because of, not despite, his perceived
positional on racial superiority.

Start reading books about jung and Freud, dreams and their
explanations. About the mind and its subconsciousness,
finally you will grow personal, spiritual and in life. See
it as a gift.

I'm not sure i agree with Jungian archetypes, interesting
concept, but has anyone seen the paintings he did for his
red book, really excellent stuff.

No I haven't. Are their any Jungian students who took
Jungian archetypes to a level that you could agree on?
Pinkola Estes perhaps? Is Jung's dream interpretation based
solely around archetypes? I have no clue what his definition
of archetype is to the general understanding of the word

well as far as i'm aware, and i am a layman on the subject
is that common to everyone's subconscious are sort of
prototypical templates that represent different aspects of
your personality, i could be totally wrong but thats how i
read it.

Thought I knew a fair deal about dreams, until reading this
thread. Looks like I've got some catching up to do.

I've actually discovered a way to induce wet dreams, it's
pretty badass tbh only it's not something I do
intentionally. Requires a lot of will power and a 4am
shower.

Dreams are reeeal, myaaan..... If you get good enough at
dream manipulation, you can live your life in your dreams.
Everyone would think you're in a coma, but you'd be hunting
t-rexs with your lazer rifle out the side of your
Lamborghini Countach at 200 mph, whilst getting a blowjob
from an ever morphing beauty.

I 'never' slept as a baby, child, and teenager. Night
terrors from the youngest of age. I don't sleepwalk anymore,
but can't stand being in bed unless I'm shot to pieces. I
think the meds, plus the smoking mean I don't remember my
dreams too well. I'll remember the quick dream I have a few
minutes before waking.

People go on about lucid dreams. I've had two, but unlike
others I've yet to master how to do it every time. One thing
I do seem to notice is that my dreams are either
instructive, as to where my subconscious lies, or they're
premonitions. Premonitions in dreams really fucked me up at
one point, because no one really ever takes you seriously.

Richard D James came out in my last dream, which was weird.
We were hanging out and doing whatever, and then when I came
back from taking a piss in an overflowing toilet, we went
out to smoke. I ran out of smokes so he takes out some
blunts thinking that's what I meant by "Do you have any
smokes?", and then my cousin comes out saying that there's
no smoking on the premises.

Then I woke up and was disappointed that I didn't get to
smoke up.

One of the major points of the dream being that as RDJ
walked away from me as we went outside to smoke,
post-my-pissing, he was shirtless, very tan, and his back
was sweaty and rippling with muscle. He looked like an
organic farmer who'd been farming 10kg turnips for years on
end. ...I guess he gained a newfound love for muscle
aesthetics since becoming popular again.

He's already got his permanent throne amongst a handful of
thrones in the electronic music world-- imagine how
invincible he would be if he had a body like a tan Olympic
gymnast.

The electronica underground lifestyle seems to be the
downfall for a lot of us..... Too many drugs and ridiculous
sleeping schedules, without the testicular/vaginal fortitude
to sustain such self-imposed lifestyle. Tapping into the
Matrix mainframe using wicked acid lines, you gotta request:
"We need more muscle... Lotsa muscle."

Acne, bearded face, and a hunchback might look IDM, but it's
not gonna help with doing planche pushups and spinning
jumpkicks on stage during a laptop live set.

the question is..is life a dream and are your dreams the
real life or not? Indians were sure life is a dream and when
you dream you are really awake.

if i piss myself in bed i usually have a dream that i am
taking a piss in a bush or at a toilet. pretty fucking
deceptive way for your brain to allow you to piss in bed eh?

didnt quite give him enough gas so he had a dream he was
chewing on a metal tap. cant have been pleasant.

Wanting to sleep is our withdrawal symptoms of DMT.

a few days before I first bounced to a psych ward i was
utterly convinced my dreams were being manipulated or
created from some outside force... still the most vivid shit
i've ever had.

i was seeing thru my "own" eyes but a school friend of mine
was there too giving me "instructions" and every time i
changed my viewpoint (visually) the room would change colour
and shape into bonkers escher stuff. that still somehow made
sense. aaaaaaarghgggh

Dreams are somewhat independent to whatever "waking shit"
and a life within themselves, and living sincerely in one's
dreams can result in great spiritual/mental/physical
progress in one's life. Dreams are where we teach ourselves
more easily-- "waking life" is also where we teach
ourselves- and everybody is merely a reflection of
ourselves- but it's less apparent due to the illusion of
"first-person perspective".

Anyway, the point I wanted to make for those interested in
dream-living and manipulation, is that there is a
correlation between events in the day and dream-event
chronology. So if you watch a shitload of porn or think
many hours of erotic thoughts just before sleep, the most
realistic sexual part of the dream will be just before
waking up. If this porn/sexual-mind is lived at the
beginning of the day, the early dreams will tend to be more
sexual. Etc. Hours of focus tends to get away from surreal
abstraction shitz in dreams, which is why playing chess or
Tetris for more than 10 hours straight, can result in dreams
where one is straight up playing chess or Tetris.

Point being, if you want to have amazing ultra fantasy sex
and orgazmz in your dreams, spend a whole day in your mind
fantasizing. Then before sleeping, make conscious note to
yourself that you are in a safe environment, as if we are
not, we tend to hold back in the dream state, due to
realizing that we might be observed by others. Then sleep
(and not masturbate the whole day or for many days prior),
and you can ultra sexorz in your dream. If this is an
intention, you will be more conscious, and if you practice
dream consciousness for months/years, you'll be able to live
in your dreams in a state that is FAR MORE REAL THAN WAKING
LIFE. It's hard to imagine a state being "more real than
real", but in deep states of meditation and also sleep, this
is possible. After experiencing ultra hyperreal states
regularly, you will have a deeper understanding of your
consciousness.

Godspeed IDM Dream Warriors~
