I had lots of avatars, never stuck to one. I found making them fun. Most people thought it was because of the philosopher that I chose the name, but it was indeed from Calvin & Hobbes, a big favourite. I had become a real angry person on XLT, I started to notice that a lot of people didn't see me as tongue in cheek anymore. So I left, but ultimately came back, and thought I should change name, and attitude. Most of the people who knew me were aware of the switch. I tried to be nicer, but still ended up becoming a cunt here. Ah well! Sorry about all that text. I'm sure you're sorry you asked. |

I just want to say how nice it is to see so many people and so much positivity back on the board. I haven't posted much over the last couple of years but I've always been lurking. I always remember the board as a very funny and warm place, not despite its problems but partly because of them. I hope this resurgence continues |

I was moved by your post and it's so refreshing to see people defend not hating things for a change. There's enough negativity to go around on the internet already. it looks like a decent list, though missing some cool ones i guess.. powell played really cool music live, very danceable and the way i like to hear dj sets - not putting all the focus into technical aspect, but rather doing a great selection of interesting, fun songs that work by themselves alone..i got quite fedup with ableton live sets or that kind of thing, which to me is more about djs showing off than the music itself.. getting grumpy i guess : ) anyway, i did ana interview with powell if someone's interested.. he talks about cool stuff, mentions autechre and aphex as well.. |
