Who here holds a solid CD-collection?

Let's discuss the awesomeness of CD's - for instance, I have
a NAD C541 CD Player which has an oldschool Burr-brown chip,
that CD-player supports HDCD, which is this 20 bit
HD-format, that came out somewhere between CD and SuperAudio
CD - only around a 1000 CD's are released in that format.
Also the pregap tracks, like Autechre did on EP7. Also
worth mentioning is build in posters in the jewel-case, like
Peache Orchestra's debut. Secret tracks, special edition,
CDROMs and more - talk about it!

Do you have a favorite CD-feature?

i like the cheapness, u can buy like all the old aphex
albums for $.0.01 cents each (+ shipping)

i dont like hidden tracks after 10 minutes of silence there
so annoying!

i have a black metal cd where theres a wierd "design" on the
DATA SIDE of the cd (on the outside part after the music
data obvisouly) its so wierd and no 1 on the internet ever
mentioned it maybe its a manufactureing glitch but it looks
cool

Ooh, something worthwhile...I've got more than a few CDs
behind the living room sofa, but my 13-year-old CD player
(Cambridge Audio) has just died...any tips for a good one,
price largely irrelevant, but should hook up nicely to my
13-year-old old Kenwood amp...ta muchly...

I have close to 200 CDs, and only a handful left to burn in
flac. I should probably have ripped straight wave or flac
uncompressed. Anyhow I can't wait to unload the. Quoth EP
anyone?

them*

Used to have an arcam CD player running off an audiolab
integrated on b&w speakers.

Supposedly the new b&w 685s2 is a bargain

I still collect CDs, mainly second-hand for extra cheapness.
Love to own a solid copy

I have a Sansui CD 200. It's alright..sometimes it gets
stuck when I put the CD in but I just give it a good whack
and things go fine.

CDs are cool, I still listen to them all the time.

*thumbs up*

I like NAD, cause you get good converters second hand cheap.

This link has a list on what CD-players uses what
chips. Check out reviews and message-boards, to find what is
worthwhile. I like the Burr-Brown PCM1710U
