have anyone read this one? it's a fuckin' massive bible with over 5000 album reviews.....it's a good laugh reading the explanations to all the genres; hipeddidippy-dub-jungle, nu-rave, IDM, happy hardcore and what not.

can u guys recommend any books on GOOD electronic music in the 1990s+?!?
i really want to do my English Media project on it (it would be a "genre analysis", but we can only choose a topic that real BOOKS have been published for
ive only seen info on the net so far.. and most of it pretty amateur
(im not sayin amateur as in bad, but as in, the author doesn't have a PhD in music)

AMinal: I would definitely recommend: Modulations
It's a cool book that talks about electronic music in general and then some specific things about different genres, including idm. Take a look on Amazon.com

what r u saying?
i meant they are usually fan-made projects saying how great the music is... or how this album sucked or rocked
not actually analizing the 'genre' as a whole
and i need references like books that are published by big companies w/ professional, respected authors, not "mike@hotmail.com"
i dont make the rules...
