It's true this place was different in 2003. It's also true
that my first dog is dead, my favorite ex is on the opposite
side of the country, and my knee doesn't let me run like I
used to.

Life continues to give us new opportunities and we must
learn to flow with change. Specific to what you said, there
are countless internet communities tucked away everywhere.

(And yeah, I have a fair bit of your music too, it is
great.)

u got loads o gear. a community that wont die under
circumstances that would finish off any other site. youve
heard enough good music. seen enough good films. top boys
round here got a good head on their shoulders.

i dont geddit things should be good rite? there should be
loads of art and ideas all over this place?

a share folder on the net where xlt people put some cool
samples, anything you want , kicks, snares bass lines
,samples of daft barfs, or beautiful sweet angel harps.

Then rough song ideas are made from xlt artists or anyone
who wishes to make a song from the files.

Then we all listen to the songs we all make. one by one and
Then the best is voted on .

Then the best songs project file/ midi /wavs/aiff is shared
(vst/internal instruments are bounced to wav or aiff too) in
a new share folder and then we all make a new mix of it,
changing what ever we want hihats and bass and whatever.

finally each person showcases their mix variation of this
awesome song and we vote again for the best say 5 mixes? and
for someone willing to master.

The best songs are then available to everyone on an xlt
digital download thingy ..or on bleep for the same price as
syro. lol : P

but somethings wrong cos there isnt any ideas. usual excuses
is stuff about core members being old or that webmaster
didnt make everything good for u.

ok remember when i was defending israel? if u want to test
if u r in a progressive environment u bring up israel. u
know ur in a progressive place when israel stirs a decent
for/against argument and theres some blood and tears over
the whole thing ykno creativity comes out of shit like that.
if you are met with really standard anti israel stuff it
proves you are in an environment that dosnt debate unusual
ideas. it means ur in an environment that dosnt transgress
established things.

anyway the proof is in the pudding dudes. no new ideas. and
that really is strange cos this place is made of good eggs
and a wide variety of freaks. nice balance for creativity
but nothings happening yet.

this might be last chance

This used to be a fun hang out, but then these earnest
little bumboys came along and ruined it with their fucking
emotions.

This place definitely had/has creativity in humor, but
overall, I don't think it was ever quite the full-blown
creative renaissance production studio as idealistically
implied. Because the best part of this place was/is, the
random bullshit and hardcore unexpected laughs, mixed with
insightful tidbits and exchange of ideas (words, music,
etc.) from obviously thinking people. But the glue, was the
laughs. Without laughs and bs, this place is just academic
elitism party. The contests, etc., were really good for
community building, though.

But I did think in earnest on this topic and then thought
why I haven't shared as much "bullshit" as I used to. That
creative force and "actualization" referred to? Well, it
takes a pretty good effort to get anything worthwhile
accomplished, so with myself anyway, I realized that I've
been using "my creativity" to make much larger bullshits,
instead of spending quite a lot of time being engaged in
threads for the purpose of more minor bullshits.

And I think a lot of people who used to make this place
fucking nutz ARE actualizing their creative will, by
building adult lives for themselves. Crafting something
meaningful, being responsible, fucking retirement plans and
shit-- aaall that nonsense that all the "kids" on here used
to think was ages away, is now happening for tons.

To me, this place feels like a landmark for being a kid in
my 20's... With the now-eternal site design, it's almost
like Phobz is saying to us all: "Never forget to laugh, and
if comes a time when you have to work hard, this place will
remain unchanged to remind you that you once fucked around
and didn't give a shit about shit."

In other words: "Never forget that you've already played a
lifetime's worth. Forgetting will only hold you back from
achieving what you truly desire."

congs on the 3k. Love your last post. I think you're right,
this place does remember me in my late 20's and early 30's
and at that point I also had high hopes for the people here
and collaboration projects etc, things did happen..but most
of the people did that on their own. Joined projects at this
moment? I think it ain't gonna happen, people are to
aggressive and there aren't much of creative people around
nowadays. Sorry about that AMPI. Although I don't think this
is the last change for this place..it comes and goes, things
will happen in the future, I'm sure about that.

Great perspective Jason.

This place definitely has its charm, albeit in an abstract
hypothetical sort of way. It serves it's function, and
people make the most out of it without having it oozing out
into our lives (counter to twitter, facebook, instagram
etc).
It's interesting to connect on almost a purely mental basis,
and that's what I think this is ultimately. Some mofos on
here do make a habit out of mud-cunting the fuck out of a
conversation, while others keep it light and airy (airy
literally means "my cock" in Arabic).
So at least this place has a way of weeding out all the
background noise, including annoying members, that alone is
an achievement which I personally respect the old-timers for
keeping up, cause originality is at stake here.
Peace

no im just saying rite that the times arent good for
creative things. you dont believe me well shit i guess
you'll just have to wait n see maybe youre right.

you might find it hard to actualize (which is a word with a
z in it btw) anything at all soon. a religious freak might
kill u if u say anything who knows maybe a russian oligarch
might take u to court. im just saying maybe when that
happens you'll miss the underground sewer hideout with the
beats that was xlt

You want a revolution..cool, me like. Sometimes I wonder if
there is gonna be one in my life time, still hoping for a
new hippie like kingdom to come to this world but seriously
I think people are way too stupid to even think a bit
different then their neighbour, sad but true. The idea of a
revolution started by 1000 IDM geeks ain't that bad, but how
are we gonna make it happen? Starting a kickstarter with
what idea? To build the biggest synth ever or
something?..man this is way too difficult. I hope someone
has a brilliant idea? WMW maybe?

It's not good for sunbathing, but it's good for rebuilding a
new world. If I had billions of dollars, I would definitely
setup some evil villain type headquarters over there, except
it'd be a rave lab of PLUR.

I was thinking along the lines of buying some rural land
(they go for super cheap in Yemen). With that we could
cultivate the worlds first ever IDM BEE FARM

Benefits:
Access to alluring Yemeni women (4 sexy wives per member)
Hallucinogenic honey, tuned to IDM compatible frequencies
Integration of braindance and mother nature
