LAZY_TITLE

what do u think of that article???? its interesting but
except for stephen hill kind of misses the POINT of new age
music, its not all heling music connected 2 new age
philosophy (just like not all the new age philosoyhs are
connected 2 each other)

new age music at its CORE is a marketing word for the music
informed by pre existing music styles like rock pop
classical folk and jazz but not limiting itself to them, it
distils those forms to more essential forms of universal
music. it removes the fassion and stylistic tropes and ur
left with a artist just writing music and being creative.
thats new age

to contrast wat im saying on the opposite end of the
spectrum from new age is artists like frank zappa an john
zorn who see music as a series of tropes and make new music
by conbining them in different ways

i will listen to new age and appreciate it until people
start talking about it all over these kinds of messageboards
and attaching themselves, and living their lives through it
without actually producing any music themselves, at which
point I will be disgusted and not able to listen to it
anymore.
