Why not? DnB is still buzzing. Though it's true some of the producers dont develop too much.

I was just about post that I hadn't heard any good dnb for a long time.. but then I remembered the new teebee album:
DJ TEEBEE PRESENTS - THROUGH THE EYES OF A SCORPION
slightly cheesy title, but an absolutely brilliant double album!
and teebee is an excellent live dj.. saw him and goldie live earlier this year. goldie was daft, but teebee kept us dancing till we literaly dropped

OK I decided to write short recommendations here sometimes. I get a lot of dnb mp3's everyday.
Now Armageddon III is the star. Mixed by Dylan and Ink. Anybody heard the first Armageddon (Renegade Hardware) knows what I am talking about.

Ok im listening to some Polar now on Chemicalrecords online store.
"Still Moving LP" on Certificate 18 I like=) some of his beats are a bit photek'ish =)
I really recomend that site if you are into DNB They got loads of audio for your pleasure , new old and forthcoming releases.

Just getting into Skynet, the only drum and bass artist I've heard that makes heavy use of pads (at time when no bass is playing) without it getting boring and you just wanting the bass to kick back in. Can anyone recommend a standout release/track by him to check out? Thanks.

I'm DLing that at the moment, from what I've heard, I don't like it as much as his solo stuff, Stakka seems a bit weak in comparison. Any solo stuff you can recommend?

haven't heard much of his solo stuff. 'nightlore' is pretty good.
Clockwork has some really good tracks like bios-fear (co-produced by konflict), isolation, altitude, spider money (the string sample is sampled from Braindead), and the sweet down-tempo remix of The Seas by Morcheeba.
have you heard mysteries of funk lp by grooverider (co-produced by optical)?

Not heard the Mysteries of Funk, but I like both Grooverider and Optical, so I'll have to check that out. I've only DLed the first three tracks of Clockwork so far, so perhaps I will like the tracks you mentioned.

you have to dl mysteries of funk next, in my opinion one of the best produced, funkiest d'n'b albums ever put out. you will not be dissapointed. it really should've been credited as "Grooverider & Optical" album. because you can hear how much input Optical had in it. the optical sound is all over it.

Mysteries of Funk was shite, Optical did the best job he could with some weak jazz samples, as far as I understand it Optical produced the album and Grooverider decided on what samples to include. Teebee is good. Paradox is OK as well. Sadly most drum and bass these days is shite, but I still listen to it a lot as you often find a diamond in the rough.

Kemet Crew - Champion Jungle Sound
Dom & Roland - Industry
Two of the best albums. Johnny L's album had some decent tracks on it. You are best just hunting rips of 12's though because the vast majority of albums are shit.

Yeah but I actually bought the album and I was seriously disappointed. It's not dark...it's not funky...it's piss poor...a saxomophone sample does not a good drum and bass track make.

i love ed rush & optical's music to death. expecially the 98'-99' era. the new lp 'the original doctor shade' was kindof disapointing to me though. hacksaw, 328 and get ill were the only tracks i digged on that lp.

i like the mix between live instruments and drum&bass. i also like old jazz and funk. i wasn't really expecting a 'dark' record, although 'where's jack the ripper' is very dark. it's just matter of taste. so it's not your thing, but i love it.
