ok. so i was in the radio station booth today hosting my show and i got to looking through all the new "urban" (hip-hop, r&b) vinyl. i came across the new dj shadow 12" single for "you can't go home again". very, very pretty cover with "stock"/found artwork and a word bubble with the title of the release. that's cool and all but here's the best part. everyone has the new shadow album on mp3. what they DON'T have are new b-sides. besides the album version of the title track there is a shorter "radio edit". there's also a version of "the letter from home" that is 49 seconds long, making it the THIRD version (two are on the album). here's the best bit. there's a new song (2:31) called "treach battle beat" and.... another new song called "disavowed" (4:29) co-produced and with live drums by ZACK DE LA ROCHA (ex-RATM). how about that shit! none of this is on the album except for the album cut of the title track. the worst part is neither audiogalaxy nor soulseek have these wonderful new songs yet. i did my duty in telling you guys, let me know when you find these songs! |

no, it's like a mystical, mythical creature that album.. i didn't think anyone outside of the people on the album and the label heads had heard any of it? is there a white label out or something? that's why the zack collabo (he also co-wrote it w/ shadow, i forgot to add that) is so exciting to me. shadow worked on zack's album, so it's from those sessions. peep the details i put up there about the album (bottom of the page). |
