Thanx Raimons has thought me well...... That Mogwai track was not my cup of tea. sorry . But everything else has been great so far . I have to check out more Nimoys. That "Aunt Jennifer's Tiger" was really strange and different and the "Flim A capella" is really funny. |

1. the a capella mix (cover) of flim is from THIS VERY SITE. check out the custom section. also check out the nimoys mp3's on their mp3.com site (go to my playlist page for link). 2. "permanent daylight" is the name of a radiohead song on the my iron lung ep. it is a stylistic homage to sonic youth. i love the name and it means different things to me. 3. vengaboys... if all of you are so cold and serious that you can't find the humor in that song then my explanation's not going to do much for you. but for those who caught on to the cheesiness of the song, YES it was a joke. the song is hilarious. it's a song about promiscuous sex aimed at little kids (the music and the singing is very childlike). also, i love the juxtaposition with the serious songs that bookended it. i love contrasts, just look through my playlists. and just to be up front (which you should know by now i am), i love the song too - i didn't pick it cos it was the worst thing i've ever heard. all types of music has their place. you don't have to find it enjoyable on every level, but don't be so close-minded as to believe that the song is the "very definition of crap." 4. the "scary 80s rap song" is actually a mos def song from 2001. however you're not totally ignorant as it is based on a song ("jam on it") by nucleus from the 80s. sorry you couldn't appreciate the homage. 5. the timbaland remix of the nelly furtado song is hot. my show is punk as fuck but if i'm feeling a mainstream song i'll play it without hesitation. i love all sorts of music. 6. the whole show was never marketed as exclusively new songs (the neil young and beatles songs are 70s, the johnny cash song even older). 7. i never told anyone to tune in for the idm - obviously most of you already know those songs like the backs of your hands. i tell you guys about the shows i have to expose you to NON-IDM stuff as well (believe me, idm isn't the only good music at the moment). as far as this being like all other radio stations, i totally disagree |
