10 year anniversary of the last decent warp release (barring the stalwarts)
some great music on Arcola. and a great idea too which Warp sucessfully scrapped. well done Warp!

Yes, I always got the feeling that Arcola was going to be something great that propelled Warp back into the (pseudo) mainstream, but which was quietly dropped, all too soon.

dennis rusnak and louis digital are just as good! but matala bobo is awesome. probably better than anything from their warp album, which is also really good.

i was in hmv at the time of release and got talking to the poor bastard guy who worked in the "vinyl" section. talk about easy money, i think i was the only person he got to talk to all week.
anyway he had this theory that the 6 track ep they did (which is fucking great) of which each individual track was based upon all of the curent warp artists: ae, aphex, sp, boc, etc. and he had a point! go back and listen to it, it's a meaningless but a great non-idea.
