Ever watched that Ancient Aliens gobshite that they play on the "History" channel? Well there's something that could be semi-legitimately put on there. In what was to become Ghana about 2 billion years ago, there was a natural nuclear reactor at a place called Oklo. Natural uranium (placer deposit?) went critical, and was cooled by groundwater. Pretty fucking cool/IDM. But imagine if it wasn't natural and that there was an alien power plant on Earth 2 billion years ago? Probably not true, but someone should at least churn out some sci-fi about it. |
