Anyone here play this game? I'd been meaning to check it
out for a while and bought it the other night.

It's the ZX Spectrum Miami Vice game, meets the film Drive,
meets Dreamweb from the Amiga with the original Manhunt
thrown in.

You character wears masks and has psychological/drug
problems and there's some conspiracy theory mind control and
an 80s hedonist/nihilistic/ambiguous outlook. The soundtrack
is absolutely superb too. One of the very, very few game
soundtracks that I think is a valid 'album' away from the
game (HOTD: Overkill is probably the only other one for
me).

In short, I think it's very Zilty.

$9.99 on GOG.com at the moment, well worth checking out.
It's a little on the short side, but time/score attacking
and being a completist with all the unlockables adds to the
longevity.

This game fucking rules.

Some of the most entertaining gameplay I have experienced
for a long time. Simple, low start up, but can get very
technical. Super fast-paced, and intense as hell.
Over-the-top violence, and style leaking out the asshole.

The soundtrack is awesome, and actually has me appreciating
some house-ier music. Really gets me pumped!

One of the best "I have 30 minutes to kill" games to just
fire up and do a few levels without waiting on a bunch of
load times or setting up anything, just click-click and
play.

A true throwback to the oldschool intense beat em ups and
action games of the old consoles.

Mac version is on the way.

This neat article sums up my feelings about the game
quite nicely.
tldr I like it a lot but I wish it wasn't another game about
having fun killing dudes

It's interesting read.

I used to have a bit more patience with the anti-violence in
video games lobby, but as I've gotten older, my thoughts on
the matter have gotten clearer and more strongly defined.
What it boils down to is this: It always worries the fuck
out of me when people get hung up on drawing analogies
between killing in a game and wanting to do it in real life.
I hate real world violence. I enjoy it in games. The two are
not the same. The fact I can make this distinction so much
that I feel entirely differently about them makes me
less likely to take a drill to someone's head in the
real world.

People for whom this distinction is somehow unclear, or even
only a thin line really trouble me. They should probably be
on some sort of watch list.
