Please overlook my retardedness if there's already a thread about this!
I loved the old Black Dog (Plaid plus Mad Ken) - Cost II is one of my favourite songs ever. Only just after a gazillion years got hold of Radio Scarecrow which is great fun - the only post-Plaid BD that I've heard except for that shitty mess that is Music for Airports. What's the other stuff like? Any gems in there?
Didn't Ken claim once to be reincarnated from some soldier in Alexander the Great's army or some shit?

There's been a few variation Black Dog threads throughout the years here, but it pales in comparison to other artists.
I hold their old work in the highest regard. Bytes is indeed my favorite album and Balil my favorite artist.
Even though they were a "group" it was more of a collective. You can really hear the difference in a lot of their tracks (who wrote what).
A lot of the fragile melancholic melodies (Cost II for example) have been lost by the trio (Plaid still have their moments). I guess it was a reflection of their lives at the time, and why it really hasn't been duplicated.

I follow them pretty closely. Spanners is a timeless release and blew my mind the first time i listened to it (probably cause i was already tripping). Anyway they still put out great live performances, and its always a treat to hear new talent from sheffield through them

I loved them as the original trio but now they're a bit pedestrian with some atmospherics in the background. They sound like two burly fucks have kidnapped Ken, fed him drugs and stuck him the cellar whilst they peddle charmless techno by not magick numbers.

I really like their more recent album further vexations. One of my favorite albums to listen through contiguously (though there are also some great standalone tracks).

just got Vexations and the Real Airports one. Vexations is fun, loads of shit going on. Real Airports sounds like great hangover music. Liber Dogma still on its way!

In first post I meant Music for Adverts, not Music for Airports. The former is a mess, the latter is pretty good
