I am absolutely terrible at guitar. So bad that it is unfunny. Nonetheless, I would like a cheap electric guitar to connect to Reason and use as a sound source for long FX chains to make shoegaze.
Given its intended use and my utter lack of skill, I presume there is little to be gained from an expensive guitar. Can anyone recommend a cheap electric guitar that might be suitable?
Presume I know absolutely zero about guitars and you won't be far off the mark. :)
Thanks in advance zilty.

I like shoegaze
good luck
don't forget to spam your tunes
I'm not sure it'll help but here's a story: once my mate made me an adapter (of a part of electronic watch, I think) which I was able to stick to my acoustic guitar - near the sound hole - and it gathered the sound from guitar. it had jack-jack cable attached so I could plug the whole thing even to a home stereo. the strings were metallic, so the guitar sounded like overdriven electric guitar. I recorded 1 or 2 tapes of experimentations using that. example

Can't go wrong with a second hand squier stratocaster or telecaster.
I've found ebay is good for finding cheaply made second hand guitars that go for next to nothing, some of which have surprisingly good reviews if you do a bit of searching on the internet.

2nd hand shop, buy the cheapest one. As long as it stays in tune, should be no prob.

p.s. In Tokyo I bought a 2nd hand solid-body electric guitar that was worth several hundred, but since the neck was changed, it wasn't easy for them to check the make. Anyway, I got an amazing guitar, nude wood body, solid tone (though I've only played it acoustically), and it cost me $10. So- that's the other option-- you can buy a good guitar for cheap!
Even new, a goodish cheap guitar can be had for less than $200/100GBP.
