That seems to be it in a nutshell from what I can gather. A
lot of what the Republican supporters were afraid of has
come true, so they're as pissed off about him being in power
as they ever were and they feel that their pre-election
claims of him being some sort of commie anti-christ who
didn't even have the right to stand for election have been
vindicated.

On the other side, sure you get the diehard Obama fans
who'll highlight small improvements* and defend the slow
change as symptomatic of bureaucracy and "the system" as
opposed to any failing on his part.

As someone largely indifferent to the situation, I'd suggest
he's a bit of a victim of the hype machine. People were
creaming their drawers over the prospect of (half) black
democrat president, which against a backdrop of the
incumbent Bush of the time, sounded as though it was going
to be the biggest change ever seen in American politics. Yet
in reality, he has been in power a long time, they wake up
and go to work and their money doesn't stretch as far as
they'd like and life goes on much the same as it did before.
Consequently, a lot of people who supported him feel a bit
short-changed now they have little of what they imagined. I
don't really blame him/his party for this. People were a bit
naive to imagine their lot would be significantly better
under him.

*at least, from people of their political bent's POV.

true dat.

it dont matter what face of any political situation we have,
we can only be sure that that face is not actually making
the decisions, which is why its all pish.

conservatives believe that the american values are Liberity,
In God we Trust and E Pluribus Unum and that obama wants to
replace these american values with the european values of
Equality (instead of Liberty), Secularism (instead of In God
We Trust) and Multiculturalism (instead of E Pluribus Unum),
which they see as the values that lead to Europe's current
disastrous state.

conservatives also blame obama for not comprehending evil
and for analyzing the problems of the world not in terms of
"good vs. evil" but in terms of "rich vs. poor". they
believe that obama has no moral sense.

they also see obama's health-care-reform as an effect of his
lack of moral sense. it's a citizen's moral right and duty
to be free and not be nannied by state. getting benefits
from the state for doing nothing corrupts your character
while working ennobles your character.

A lot of rich (and not so rich even) people don't want to
pay for the 'poor'. "pay for your own insurance" etc. He
wound up a lot of people. I like him.

Oh, what welt said, more or less.

He's just another politician to me, part of a broken 2 party
machine we have. Neither candidate has my vote, as usual. I
suppose he's preferable to Romney just for the fact that
he's pro abortion and I would prefer to keep that option if
I were to get my girlfriend pregnant somehow (I don't ever
want children).

Ignore the puppet show. The real political action is coming
from the T-Rex of political talk, Alex Jones. I think they
secretly banned me from the economic system because they
know I listen to his show and don't want me to make any
money that I can use to fund him. Just like they cut off all
funds to Julian Assange. So I guess I'll have to live in a
van or be dead soon. Nobody will remember me AND THIS LIFE
WAS TERRIBLE. Computers were pretty cool and interesting but
that was just something that blossomed faster than the
elites could stamp it out. They poisoned all the memes so it
was impossible to learn the true secrets of computers
anyway. Well I had fun playing videogames by myself for
extremely long durations of time, even though they were a
complete attack on my brain, imprisoning me with a
completely artificial lonely reward system.

The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to
strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow
very lively debate within that spectrum -even encourage the
more critical and dissident views. That gives people the
sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the
time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced
by the limits put on the range of the debate

a good guy. meanwhile the left seems to think he is not left
enough? i bet the left will be the reason romney gets in.

Turns out when obama spoke about change, voters thought he
meant for the better.

Although many just voted because he is a strong brother with
dope moves

I don't like Obama because he is a black nigger. How can a
black man be president? It doesn't make sense until you
realise the truth of the world.

Since he didn't close Guantanamo, he's as much against human
rights as the fuckers before him.
