I am looking for a nice soft synth, any recommendations?

make your own synths out of absurdly long effects chains,
they sound better that way.

ie: simple wav bassline > lp filter > 8bit shaper >
autofilter > bitspeek > hp filter > distortion >
downsampler

then modulate the fuck out of everything. wheeee!
