It's really shallow Razor. I can't think of any pluss points
to making such ashit effort.

I did but I honestly can't tell what differentiates it from
commercial trance and from blatant pop rubbish. I'm not
going to remember that track tomorrow and neither will you.
It sounds like dot to dot music.

I make what I like, and right now I have a thing for this
specific type of sound. Maybe there's no difference between
it and commercial formulaic unimaginative pap, but I don't
really care. All I care about is the fact that I like it,
and I thought maybe others might like it too. I honestly
don't think it's identical to anything out there. But then,
I don't listen to a huge amount of music.

I do recommend checking the second one though. Definitely
sounds less commercial.

Also, part of why it sounds so unimaginative or whatever
might have something to do with the fact that I'm going
through a pretty lazy phase in my life. Don't have much
energy for anything, so this kind of thing suits me fine. I
guess it's a bit like having a cheap wank or something.

And yes, of course, it could be much better. Again though,
the laziness.

I don't really agree with, Dick. Although, if it really is
"pop rubbish" at least you can make money from it.

Crack on.

I understand you don't agree Clive. I don't trust anyone
that agrees with me. It's not a force for good encouraging
someone to go down the trance route is it? Maybe it is?

truth be told, I really have no idea about anything really.

i did read once that trance music funds terrorism. but i
always hoped terrorism would kill pop music.

day another Rupee.

at 1:36 if there was a slamming bass kick it'd be club shit.
its badass. all the awesome dis-synth is nice to hear on
its own.

i also would like to say, along the lines of conversation in
this thread, that its easy to make 'interesting sounds' but
that it take much more skill to make those into good music.

I really dig version 2. I feel like it loses steam around
the halfway point though. Really nice synth sounds

I think the constant arpeggiator gets tiring especially when
it becomes more obvious that it is an arpeggiator for the
last half

did you make it in reason?

Don't really like the way it mixed tbh - the arpeggios are a
bit 'blunt', but i think the way i'd do it would negate the
aesthetic.

I prefer this.

I'd be tempted to run the synths through something, get rid
of the digitalness and MAYBE the drums too. Fuck, i don't
know.

Yeah, I've really tried to make it sound better, but I'm
just so terrible at all that stuff. I usually just end up
making it sound worse :P

nice tracks. Sounds like you're maybe using new software or
some effect or whatever for better quality sound.
anubba sounds like a remix of a previous track you made

offline yann_g from now on 2012-07-15 18:15 [#02437606]

i like the basicness of the sound, it's got something i
interpret as naive and raw that i like but overall it's too
repetitive (especially the first pattern, gets really
annoying quite fast) and the track lacks structure patterns
seem more like collages than evolutions, i can't hear the
meaning. the part i like most is the one that starts @ 1:57

thanks for the critique :)

i've actually developed a taste now for different sounds and
will probably not work any more on that track.

I don;t mean to be a downer on everything but reversing the
track sounds equally as shit as it would sounded forwards,
