I'm into the process of creating a MIDI controller and I
thought it might be fun to share my efforts, knowing that I
started with nearly no knowledge in electronics, and very
little in programming. Another reason is that you have to
browse tons of web pages to learn all the stuff you need and
I thought it might be cool to gather what the n00best of the
n00bs needs to know to start making a MIDI controller :)

Here's the URL, I just started it!

keep it in mind , cause with max you can make that little
arduino do almost anything.

its like using clever lego. with no need to know C++

i've been using it with processing and i got pure data
instead of max because it's free but i didn't like it much.
can u code directly or do you have to use that weird block
interface?

keep us informed! You've any experience with solding
machines etc?

connecting objects with wires.

If you mean "soldering", I've only soldered a
Pico Paso. If you mean "solding", then I don't know
what you mean.

Next post will be my attempt at using a 4051 chip to expand
the number of avaible input & outputs, it wasn't that
successful for controlling LEDs, and I'll post after that
about shift registers (that I'm about to order)

is that a multiplexing thing?

I am planing to turn my duemilanove into an (equivalent)
mega arduino through multiplexing to lots of channels of
logic (1,0's) to latch type transistor circuits so any of
the leds can remain on or off.
you probably know already, but just incase : multiplexing
uses the Pwm outs and turns them into lots of channels of
1,0's

have you seen this ?
wooOoo

Looks awesome. Can't wait to try this stuff out.

It says 64 inputs from one analog in pin. wow that's
sweeeet.
