anyone else got into these pretty short books (20 pages
long?) they go into the history of various countries along
with stories about their rulers and soldiers

some interesting stories:

stalingrad(russian vs german bloodbath)

prussia (beautiful old europe RIP)

japan (tokugawa ieyasu, who taugh the value of waiting for
the right moment. he moved to edo(tokyo) where his
competitors couldnt see him then let them attack korea and
get defeated then he stepped in and his family dominated
japan for 300 or400 years)

There was another one, perhaps 'anglo saxons, normans,
celts, and picts' with pictures of an old map of britain and
wales was listed as WILD WALES
And cornwall was listed as WELSH CORNWALL

I knew that Welsh and Cornish people were distant relatives
but I wonder how close they actually were...

any history buffs on here? I'm just getting into this stuff
myself but it's fascinating
