ok, ive played MW3 online for a couple of hours now - awesome as ever, but whats battlefield 3 like in comparison? i dont have the time or the finances for both, anyone out there playing both at the moment?
byw am really fucked off with the COD elite voucher that came with my hardened edition (one years free membership inc all downloadable maps for the year)..what they dont tell you is that its only valid for 8/11/2011...i picked my copy up a day later. the phrase 'clucking bell' springs to mind...

After some time on both Modernwarfare2 and Battlefield:BC2 (for PS3) I chose to got the battlefield Route for number 3. I expect MW3 to play faster and feel more arcadey than BF3. In the end I think its just a preference for the type of gameplay you like.
I would expect both titles to be of a pretty high standard considering all the rivalry that exists between them. (and the budget they can afford to spend on the production also)
I can't say I am impressed with EA's implementation of the "online pass" system. "Extra server expense"? (when a 2nd hand game still is only capable off putting 1x load on the server at any one time?)
my two cents...

when i was in the 'game' shop i saw some DS versions (???). i like the mw series over the treyarch releases, they're awful....am really pissed off with this elite thing tho, at least the halo version was free...mind i only buy them for the MP, cant be arsed with the campaigns. whats the score with picking up b3 second hand? do you have to buy an online pass?

cod if you want do shoot people and get kills. bf3 is you want do do everything else (fly helicopter, jet, drive tanks, boats, basejump..and kill people). bf is a lot more team oriented

oh they most certainly are. and they do it quite well. i remember playing through mw2 in one take and i was sweating like after a marathon.
mw3 is not different - you still have that fast-paced action that i loved from the previous installments - the thing is just that the scripts for the scenes went way overboard. the scenes from mw1 and mw2 were hoolywoodish but still plausible.
i don't want to spoil but a few missions are just so over the top that alien infested hookers on fire shooting lazers from their eyes wouldn't even raise my eyebrow.

From everything I read so far, it seems to be summed up in the following:
MW3=Superior Single Player (bigger console community)
BF3=Superior Multi-Player (bigger PC community)

Every copy of the game comes with 1 Online Pass (PS3). If you buy it 2nd hand and want to get online then you will most likely have to buy another pass which is available from the online store for ($14.95 AUS). EA are a pack of rude cunts for doing this imo.

I like Modern Warfare 1 (aka COD4) more than any Battlefield game, but I refuse to play either series anymore because they milk motherfuckers for bullshit used-to-be-free map packs. Whatever. TF2 is still fine I guess.
