Aphex fans unite!

Being probably the only person in my area who
has even heard of Aphex Twin, I seriously underestimated
RDJs fanbase. When I first came to this sight, i was
expecting to blow the dust off of an unused message board
with maby a few posts from 1997 that said "The come to daddy
video is confusing..." But instead I found one of the most
popular message boards on the net. You should all pat
yourselfs on the back for being the most loyal fans i've
ever seen. Im sure RDJ himself is proud, and maby even as
shocked as I was. Keep up the good work my fellow fans, I
salute you...

Right on. There is NO Aphex fans where I live, absolutely
none. I could drive around blaring Come to Daddy and the
ONLY person in the city that would know what is was is me.
This board is really the only place to get my Aphex fix. And
it's a great site, best on the net, I think. Good thing it
exists, too, cuz would never have got into this stuff (Aphex
or electronic music in general) without it!

I live just outside of Rockford, it's an hour or so west of
chicago. And this city is nothing but a swarm of Ghetto
people (of all races) who always come up to me and say "Yo
nig, we funna go smo sum Wee" and if that isent cool, i
dont know what is! (That was sarcasim) ... Anyways, if their
not ghetto, their damn dirty hicks. And let me tell you,
neather of them can understand rdj's music. i feel sorry
for there poor aphex deprived souls.

Cool
I hear the B Boy/Hip Hop culture is really strong in
france?

A friend of mine who is a professional dancer did a routine
once to Windowlicker on a dance show.
I never saw it but it must have been cool.
He aked me if Aphex was an old breakdancer or something
cause Windowlicker was such a great song to dance to or
something.
I laughed!!!

I think the music is a bit too challenging for most people.
They're not used to it(too much pop-radio) We need to
educate them.

No way they have to discover it for themselves, you know
about 2 years ago, I couldnt appricate something like
CONFIELD ! It takes some time to develop new listening
habits.......

Of course, but you had to hear it once before you could
develop an interest in it, didn't you? You didn't go to the
recordstore and randomly pick the album without knowing what
Autechre sound like did you? I'm sure someone suggested
listening to it.

I found out totally for myself, after being ''tipped off''
to it by Radiohead...I did some MAJOR digging around on the
internet looking for info on this Aphex guy and similar
things, and I remember ending up here and marvelling at the
insanity. This was before the place calmed down and settled
into the great thing it is now... there were so many fucking
trolls! Hilarious stuff, but it had to end.

well actually laserbeak, i have discovered artists by doing
just that - going into a record store and using intuition to
boy stuff - that's how i found out about DJ Krush (i bought
milite - great album), thelonius monk, deftones, dr octagon,
a large diversity of styles, by using this process

Yo Din, straight up gangsta in this bitch... I mean nice to
meet you. I don't think that folks who listen to simple
boring pop tunes don't have the ability to listen to dope
tunes, they just don't understand why someone would choose
to listen to complex music cause they don't know what we get
out of it. They have no fath that something might be good
even though it's not popular. Why would something so good
be so unpopular? They Just aren't interested in trying
something outside of what pop culture tells them is
pleasing. Poor souls just don't know what they're missing
is all!
