Pocket knife advice, recommendations

I'm looking at getting a single-bladed pocket knife. As
much as I love my Swiss army knife, the little blade doesn't
seem tough enough to really take a lot of abuse. I've been
nice to it, mostly, but there have been times when I've
worried it'll break under the stress I'm putting on it.
There are also a few tools I don't use very often and the
space might be better used for one big blade.

What are some good brands of knife? There are Buck knives at
the local Walmart, but I'll probably go to a camping store
for the wider selection. I'm also curious about the Gerber
brand. Anyone ever use this kind of Gerber Pocket Knife. In
addition, if you go camping and/or do a little whittling in
your spare time, I'd love to hear what you use, because I do
a lot of that in the summer. Thanks in advance
