I picked up some Blue Lines today, and so I want to know,
what's your favorite Massive Attack album... I haven't even
fully listened to this one yet, so I have to say
Mezzanine...

I didn't like Mezzanine at first. Thought it had loads of
samey dud tracks. But after a while I really got into it and
now I LOVE IT.
Blue Lines now pales in comparison.
Protection's great too. When's the Mos Def/MA collaboration
single coming out?

Mezzanine is so brilliant!!! Lots of middle eastern vibes
going on, and it's oh so very dark...

i always heard it was their best album, so i bought it...
and i didn't like it at all. i think its HIGHLY overrated.

I dunno, I've been listening to it since I bought it, and I
think it's really nice... the last track seems pretty lame,
but other then that everything is good... although I haven't
listened to it that much... the beats are very nice, and I
love the rapping of 3d, and Tricky is on this one... I wish
there was more rap from those guys though, but it's still a
really good album... these are my first impressions...

You know, the song Blue Lines is so excellent... I love
it... it's no nice and smooth with great back and forth
raping from Tricky, and the guys... check it out if you
haven't heard it already...

Blue Lines, Protection, Mezzanine. They all rock! The
No-Protection-mini-album isn't very good though...

blue lines is definately the best.. hard to get into the
vocals.. cos their're wierd but..

it's surely the best album..

mezzanine sounds all the same... i mean mezzanine starts out
great and ends great but at the middle it gets so boring...

and 'hymn of the big wheel' is such a great track i would
listen it over and over. It's the same track funkmaster
refers as 'pretty lame'. well i don't think so sir.

offline digital messiah on 2002-05-30 17:33 [#00242757]

blue lines is the best mainstream album of the 90s!
and i think this is very apparent for everyone who was
listening to mainstream music thru 90s...
anyway mezzanine is a great album but lacks that significant
massive-bristol magic, and because of that it cant compare
with an out of time masterpiece called blue lines...

I don't like them that much, and I think mezzanine is OK but
a bit dull

I still love Mezzanine, it's just sooo sexy... an all-around
good album too, though I've heard it knocked around a lot by
critics saying that "anyone could do this" - I think it's
not really a technically masterful album, but they just
managed to bring so many influences into it and still
managed to keep a very smooth and consistent overall vibe. I
didn't taste even a morsel of cheese on this album.
pure sex. :)

mezzanine is the jam, one of the darkest albums i've ever
heard and yet one of the sexiest.
