did anyone hear go?

Amen Allstars, Jeff Mills, Atari Teenage Riot, Moritz von
Oswald, Ceephax, Vibert Leftfield all amazing

Leftfield played one of the best gigs I've ever seen.

and if anyone knows any of the tracks Vibert played please
tell me, some really snappy jungle

what an experience

nothing adds to the fact like when you don't know what to
expect. first time in europe. off plane. train to london.
bus route to st pancras. train to ashford. switchover
train en route to rye. board with ravers. feeling comes
over that things are getting close.

was a nice police trap as soon as we stepped off the train
in rye (police with dogs pruning everyone walking by)...few
people were pulled aside and searched. hit the grocery
store for beer and foods. didnt know the fridge would be
that small so certainly overbought supplies. nor did i
realize there was a party store at pontins... was hell
carrying luggage and supplies around. shared a cap with
some nice guys from scotland and then off we go! really did
not expect so many chalets (such a large campus) ... nor did
i expect them to be that much of a shithole, but looking
back it definitely added to the experience.

got things going nicely with the kickoff amen.
soundmurderer played next and whipped things up. even
dropped that afx scriem track which was a nice touch and
finished up with some sqr acid. sounded great in the bang
room.

had fun the rest of the night, no need for details.
woke up the next morning out of liquid cash and set off to
find an atm. party store atm did not accept atm cards
without security chips (we don't haev those in the states),
and neither was my credit card accepted. bit of despair set
in and frantically tried to sort things out. party store
across the street did cash back on debit purchases, but that
worked once as after that they refused non-chipped cards.

also found that nice rye cafe a few blocks away (near the
beach). lovely view from the beach overlooking pontins, the
wind farm, and the transmission towers leading to the
fission plant on the coast.

sat night i really didnt know anyone playing so was just
getting down for the fun of it.

sunday was great, though. prepped things out with some cafe
and brews at the cafe, and then offf to ceephax !!

started out with a dj set for an hour or so to warm things
up and danced good to green calx rewind! fun fun fun! the
live set was great, too. dancing and drinking and going
mental to castillian and he even played vadijenk!! i have
tons of great videos ill try and upload.

overall, completely blown away by what is bangface. much
more than i expected. defintely a 3day rave and not a music
festival like i had imagined. the chalet parties were nuts.
the courtyards were nuts. the chemicals were proper. the
beer was off the charts. i was blown away by how proper the
beer was poured even when the bar was packed. no rushing of
any of the bartenders. no preservatives in those beers,
either? so fresh - i didnt get a hangover all weekend !!

checked out and seperated from my m8s from detroit and went
off on my own to london for 3 days. big thanks to mohammed
again for recommendation on that hostel; worked out lovely.
snacked on fresh raspberries and strawberries from france
from horrads and fueled up on stella and guinness and walked
around for days. someone left tom clancy's SSN at the
hostel - polished that book off in 2 days reading in the
parks just soaking things in. most importantly, finally got
pissed up in se-1 and enjoyed walking around and taking the
trains while listening to my favorite tunes. where im from
we drive and listen to music, but it's nice to put things on
autopilot on the train and daydream to music. that really
made my trip (it's the simple things!).

sounds like you had an awesome weekend, nice one. definitely
know what you mean about it being a 3 day rave and not a
festival. guess thats why they call it "weekender" instead
of festival. the line up was great but I think the grimness
of the pontins surroundings detracts rather than adds to the
experience for me. the hard crew love it but I think next
year I'll go to a proper festival.

???

morge,
yeah - woken up on saturday morning and i was feeling
guilty! almost like i wanted to go home early. those
chalet's are absolute garbage, but looking back on it ---
that shithole i slept at certainly added to the experience.

the performer's chalets were definitely acceptable. tile
and nice countertops! 0_0
