[nodding furiously in agreement]
I was listening to Sign O the Times and marvelling at how
ahead of times it was

yeah, young prince was flawless. I was reading about those
hi hats on 777 9311 recently. It's meant to be an LM-1.

'The LM-1 applies an envelope to a continuously running
sample that varies as it plays. That means you get a
different snapshot of the sample every time you trigger
it.'

Some of my favourites - all the critics love u in new york,
i would die for u, wanna be yr lover, ballad of dorothy
parker

it's all good until after black album though.

unreleased prince mix for anyone who missed it -

all the critics love u in new york is tremendous...
masterpiece really, that fucking groove is mindblowing. i
would link it up but i guess he keeps complaining to youtube
about his tracks being up there. fair enough...

the 777 9311 hats (and beats) are just so futuristic. the
LM-1 always sounded a lot like the oberheim d(m)x to me,
both are really neat drum machines with a lot of character.
