anyone care to comment on this comment from discogs?

"Everyone who owns this binder, take all of your 12s out
of it and just put them in paper jackets and sleeves. The
poly sleeves they come in, once again, mess the records all
up making them all foggy and noisy (referring to the
original Caustic Window Compilation poly triple fold out
sleeve that did the same thing). Sorry Rephlex, you just
have bad luck w/ polyvinyl sleeves. Now stay far far away
from them. Paper and cardboard for the rest of your days
please."

hmmm, i noticed that too.
maybe one should take them out of the sleeves,
before putting a needle on the record?

Just remember though to use organic brown paper sleeves, as
bleached white ones will not only erode your discs but also
give you cancer.

I think it's something to do with different plastics
reacting with each other.
Paper and plastic don't react in the same way.
I'm not a material scientist so I don't really know about
this sort of thing, but you should look up "outgassing"
which may give some ideas of the sorts of chemical processes
which occur.

Anyway, it's sound advice - remove the records and use it as
an additional national record of achievement folder,
result!

Last time i checked i didnt notice anything, and i know what
to look for since it happened to the triple foldout caustic
window comp. There's a difference though, cause the analords
had those thin plastic sleeves. But it's sound advice
though, better safe than sorry.

paper sleeves dont scatch the vinyl,
u must be on teh acid.

also the plastic sleeves probably grab a little more
moisture or condensation, which would affect teh vinylsssss.
