When he first took office he announced he would stay "one

nice

the Mussolini one clearly is a reference to Mary Antoinette.
and a nice one imho

i don't know wth obama is trying to say. but that's probs
because of the position of the US in this

also, on change

Mary Antoinette's famous words are unlikely to have actually
ever been uttered.

obama has come out all inventive and talked about the people
being aware of something and that can't be took away, too
into his speech.

VERY ADMIRABLE

that's hardly important now anymore. well, what's important
is that the people believed she'd say that

Well, the quote survives her but we should know the history.

I think Jean-Jacques Rousseau first wrote this... then it
became famous.

I mean she probably would have been beheaded anyway. The
fact is important, not for her sake, but just to get
to get to understand how revolutions work.

Art played a big role in this Egyptian revolution as well
('let them eat cake' seems a pretty powerful and effective
little work of fiction), with all the powerful images being
distributed all over the net.

I love the phrase man! I agree it "survives her" It lives
on, despite the history. But still, one enjoys history.

i agree,

i've started circulating revolution video crazyness but
they're not funny enough

they need support in that sense, i've seen signs worth a
thousand bansky these days. a huge potential for the
internetz

:)

personally I like peaceful revolutions best, and I wonder
whether this violent French one set a bad example, it being
the archetypical revolution

i think peaceful revolution are more chilled, but there had
to be violent days too, from both sides

été complexe.

without the pictures of the deads in the square this
wouldn't have been possible maybe. who knows. fact is that
they outnumbered the power ideologically. they needed to
acquire that, to feed the blogs, and the dreams of the ones
without bread
