well that was very nice of you to "encode" your mean
spiteful words so nobody will actually read them!!

I probably ask this every damn time, but what program, or
even more generally, what type of software do you use to
form actual sounds (and is it free).
The first track has great sounds but the overall musical
'entertaining' quality is quite low compared to something
like typical orange dust tracks or lobster tracks or
something. Of course not all music is intended to be like
that.

Well, about that... the thing which opened my mind to a lot
of this stuff was changing from FL to Live, in that it was
much more intuitive in the way one could freeze/flatten
layers and cut samples up in the arrangement view, which
just lead to a lot of flattening and a lot of editing and
layering and easy processing of channels.

Basically a sound can be any type of synth or sample, what I
do is to mess around with it until it sounds like something
I want. A base sound coupled with Absynth FX, time shifter,
reverb, ping delay and stuff like that can do wonders. And
freesound.org samples for things like bells and real sampled
percussion is good too.

There is no one method it's more about experimenting and
trying new things. As far as musical entertaining quality
goes, to me they do, but I want to make future tracks even
more varied and different to keep interest up.

Do you think all the sounds used in "funny little man" by
aphex would be possible in ableton live? He somehow makes a
melody out of sound units that are all similar but unique.
But most software I use is such a big cumbersome enemy
between your brain and the music that its just too
unfun/tedious/aggravating to bother. Somehow aphex seems to
let his imagination flow without that problem, like
manipulating computers is as easy as molding clay with your
hands.
Do you use stuff like autotune? In funny little man aphex
easily controls pitch of that voice like 2:10 here:
LAZY_TITLE
I've used melodyne back when I had money to buy stuff, which
is similar and its pretty cool.
How much $ did all the ableton live and plugins and crap
cost? Mostly plugins do the sound morphing stuff in ableton
live?

its possible but it would be hard to get the exact same
sound, though it sounds like some pitch bend stuff and some
bitcrushing on the voice in certain spots... as far as
molding clay goes i have heard that comment before from
someone else and its interesting, but i think once you have
established some methods its easier to jam out this stuff
rather than painstakingly putting it together.
i dont use auto tune, but i have tried it awhile back. i got
the ableton + operator discount pack in 2007 i think it was
599?

and id say the plugins and synths provide the texture of the
sound but the editing is all in the sequencer in arrangement
view with cutting up, automation of parameters and
flattening / duplicating layers...

i can look around for video software and make some kind of
youtube video with some jamming if you want to see, i dunno

Does it actually come with lots of good non-trial usable
plugins, or is it like fruity loops where you have to pay
like 300$ per plugin to make it non-trial? There's probably
lots of other youtube tutorials already made, but thanks for
the help.

the suite box has many plugins, regular one comes with a
bunch of fx though like verb/phaser/grain delay/etc, the
rest you have to pay for but i dont use them like analog,
tension, and the others
