i have mixed feelings about this, and all of them are media-driven i've walked those streets and see those faces though a span of life, and it looked worse each time. the last time i just gave a dirty look, it was 2008 and i went w/o passport but i had to. 20 years after my first visit i found epic hunger, anger, bands of kids that looked like walking shit, giving hands to grown up man on the streets. thousands of people stressing on the streets. none of the poorest/popular zones i've spent my holidays is shown in the media coverage it seems, i would like to see what going on there. also not. |
