Hi guys, it's been a long long while since Ive posted on these boards but I'm just starting to get back into producing again after a hiatus of about 5 years.
What I'm wondering is: Is there any decent outlet to have this stuff peer reviewed? Back in the day I used to get stuff review at a DnB site but then it started getting rejected for being too experimental. I ended up deciding I would create my own site, got right into web development and ended up not producing anymore music.
Well, now I'm back. Ive been making a few tracks, and am on the hunt for such a site. I'm actually hoping nothing like this exists because I'd really like to create it if it doesn't.
Anyone got any links? Thoughts?

Yeah, Ive seen there and idmforums, not exactly what I'm looking for though. There just forums, I'm talking about building a site around artists. Users would sign up, create artist pages and submit tracks for peer review (amongst other things).
I've been looking for a while, I'm starting to think it doesn't exist. Which is a good thing from where I sit. Providing it is something people would be interested in.

I remember you, actually.
Yeah, much has changed since those mp3.com/MySpace review-trading days. There's simply too great a glut of online music now for anyone to bother with single track reviews (even on forums). Still, you could try sifting through the blogs connected to Hype Machine, and see if they'd give you a mention, but unless you have a full album/EP release, I doubt anyone would give you the time of day.
Otherwise, sure -- set up such a site yourself.

So, csl.... your saying, if I where to build such a site it would be better togo for entire album reviews?
This puts an entirely different spin on the idea.
If, given the choice, you had to score an album on three different points, what would those points be? eg; production, originality etc etc

I would probably split into two parts, the technical and the emotional. For technical I would write about production, complexity, clarity of sound, arrangement and so forth, and for emotional I would write about sophistication of the melodies, originality of idea, arrangement and sound and all around immersiveness..

i dont know of a site like that either and i think its a nice idea. take a look at soundcloud, we share a lot of mixes and tracks even albums on there. you have multiple tag options for your uploads or searches, the chance to follow someones output.
also a really nice feature is the comment on any position you want on the displayed track. you should implement such things. for me this site already works for looking for and promoting homemade and new released independent electronic music, but theres no real rating nor much reviewing in there, so you still have something else to offer and concentrate on.

it does make sense to have that covered/rated seperately

now is a good time to be doing something like this as there are more people getting into writing homebased electronic music and they need a place to exhibit the work. But to be honest without a large cash injection this idea might not ever get off the ground, but by all means have a go.

the silent ballet textura the milk factory
3 sites you can submit work to, which don't suck.
Oh and don't bother sending to pitchfork, before you even think of it.
