What do you do when downloading torrents, in terms of uploading at the same time?
I usually upload at 30kb/s, but this isn't very much. I always get much than I give if I do this. If I upload 100kb/s do you think this will slow my download speed down considerably?
My internet connection is 20MB Virgin Media Broadband.

Theres plenty of tutorials about this. Theres a certain "sweet spot" for upload limits. Too much or too little and it effects your download rate.
Wiki or google it.

it depends on your bandwidth really, i only have a 10mb connection which never outputs as much as it should so i normaly upload at about 20-25kbs my max upload speed is about 60kbs
torrents are still a reliable source for older files you need to get hold of, direct downloads always get deleted or removed for copyright, so i still use torrents sometimes

I use torrents quite often. Mostly cos the internet on my laptop doesn't stream videos very well and if I have stuff on my HDD, I have more control over it and don't have to mess around with the internet if I want to watch a specific episode of Curb or something.
Cool, I think 60 sounds good, I will try it. Sounds like this might be the 'sweet spot' of which chassis speaks. :) Cheers both of you.

we are living in the stone age of nets. i can hear people laughing in the future on their terra-multi pipe net connection ...they probably so advanced they downloaded and read all of xlts topics and posts in half a second. we are like little tiny bits of info to them ...so tiny and small. : o
