okay so everybody ignored my other thread (probably because
i don't know how to do those little link thingys) but
anyways, i finaly got my mp3.com station up (that's
http://www.mp3.com/stations/horriblehorrible ) and if anyone
can hook up creative
critique, uncreative slander, or some sort of pie, it would
be much appreciated...
especially if it's a pie!

"beneath it" - I thought the drum track was really nice;
clean and stuff (little too clean and for my taste though,
I'd punch a few holes in it). The synth sound (high and low
one) that plays the bass line annoyed me a little. I
thought it would be a little better if the notes faded a
little at the end or varied a little in some way instead of
staying at the same volume. Nice and long.

"Lemonade (really big shoe remix)" - I liked this one a lot
more then the first. It was more original. Reminded me of
a circus. Nothing really bothered me too much about this
one, except the first half was a bit repetitive. I also
thought it would be nice if you added some ambient
background noises like wind, or maybe even a circus toward
the latter half of the song.

"they do it with mirrors" - Pretty good for what it is, but
nothing surprising. Nice deep bass, and I liked the effects
you used around the beginning of the last half.

"jerkspeakinginit" - I liked this one. Thought you could
have varied the drumloops a little more instead of playing
the some one 4-8 times (I didn't keep count), and then
moving on to the next. Nice ambient sounds.

it kinda needs something else, like a background tone or
something around 2:20 after that hi synth kicks in though it
sorta picks up enough to stand alone
...
like the vocoder, or whatever that is on the left speaker

Diemax, I liked the first two a lot. First one got a little
repetative at points... could maybe put more into it, I
dunno, make the two note melody that -V- refered to a bit
more complex, whatever. Made me want to dance with it's
tempo, yet made me want to lay back at the same time.
Circus business is real good. I'm getting tired and sort of
spaced the second two.

I definately like your organized sound. They do it with
mirrors was good too, this is stuff that would more
obviously fit into the conventional category of music
perhaps, then super weird experimental stuff or something
and stuff like that or something. But I like the trippy ear
catching stuff, like having the pattern be repetitive
technoy drums, but then suddenly get all scrambled and
copy/pasted, in maybe a simple but still mentally pleasing
way (well I was pleasuring myself while I listened, so that
might have been a factor). and the melody is great too.
Anyway, I wrote down the names of your kmusic kaliases so
I'll be able to check them out thoroughly in the future when
I have a computer that isn't made from scraps of R2D2's
guts. Too bad we can't post anonymously anymore, then we
could more easily be honest with feedback without caring. I
probably would have posted as R2D2 and wrote a review of:
beep boooooop tweet boop beeeep or something, that would
have explained what I was trying to say maybe.

Any technique or tool used to successfully create something
interesting is ok in my book. Copy and paste is one of my
main tools, it's essential for creating something repeating
and symmetry is a pretty necessary element in music, so it's
helpful to just copy and paste instead of re-entering the
same data over and over. I also the effect when you have a
pattern of repetitive beats, but then copy random bits and
paste them elsewhere, mixing up the symmetry a bit and
making it squarepusherized and stuff or something.

I only use modplug like -V-

-V- and I are in the ring of modplug druids, you have to
have a minimal name based on a single letter to be a modplug
druid though.

thanks for bothering to listen... modplug tracker is music
making software where you organize wav files into
compositions via a pattern editor of columns and rows.

modplug works in windows if that's what os specific meant.
you can probably get it at www.sharewaremusicmachine.com, I
don't know if it's the best software available to do stuff
with though, it probably isn't.

shareware music machine eh?

and anyways, it all comes down to artistic ability no matter
what you're using
