i need halp. if some computa wiz can find a solution i'd be really happy.
i've got a really big album collection in flac. every single album is in its own folder. now, i want to convert all albums to mp3s for my ipod thing. but here's the problem: i don't want the mp3s to be put in the same folder as the flacs. i want some script or shit to do something like this for every album:
Convert "C:\Flac\aphex twin - saw2" and then save the mp3s to "C:\Mp3s\aphex twin - saw2"
you dig? now, how can i set this up automatically? creating each and every folder manually, cutting, pasting etc is just not going to happen.
i'm going to use lame to convert to mp3 btw.

Audacity does the trick for me... and it has a lot of other features as well. Don't worry, it's simpler than it looks..

how about you duplicate the flac folder, convert via any coverter (winamp coverts in ths same folder of the original folder) and then you delete the excess flacs via a simple query.

audacity is great at what it's great at, but batch conversion is not one of those things.
dbpoweramp is the standard for these kinds of things. it's not free, but it can be if you look in the right places.

or you could write a batch file with all the necessary command-line statements with the help of excel and a dump of all the directories and its files.
