Fuck you both ideas.

How the fuck did this shit universe appear in the first
place? Some dude called GOD started the party. Yes OK
whatever man.

There was an explosion and that was the start of it all!

How about tracing this shit back to the 'original fuck'?

I'll piss on anyone tonight

Piss

god started the big bang. god is sometimes known as the
uncaused cause. this is either a load of crap or the
absolute truth. but where are the walls of the universe at?
like we'll find the wall of the universe someday and knock
on it. maybe that win yu shi cosmological argument is true,
but it leaves out stuff like dark matter or w/e

probably because he thinks he's clever and knows the truth
or thinks he knows what isn't the truth. Thus any person
holding a different opinion than his own will cause him to
label that person as being delusional. It's part of the
standard rant repertoire of the average atheist.

the big bang is a theory for the starting point of our
universe, not "all". Our universe, of course, has no
"walls", it is expanding at least as fast as the speed of
light so we shouldnt worry about reaching the limits of the
universe. However if we had a machine in wich we could
travel faster than the the speed at wich the universe
expands, we would be expanding the universe ourselves when
going beyond the "limits of the universe" since we cant
escape the space-time net thingy. there is no god.

So it can seem pretty obvious that the God (or Gods) of
Judaism and Christianity don't exist because for one,
there's no real proof, there's strong evidence against it,
and overall it just seems like another one of the products
of mass-ignorance fostered by the pseudo-intellectual minds
of the time.

Here are the only real problems i see with believing in the
God of the Old and New Testament:

1. Science, Cosmology, Paleantology, Archaeology, The Fossil
Record, Transitional Forms, Carbon Dating, Evolutionary
Irregularities and other natural discoveries prove first
that the Earth is older than 6000 years, and that there were
creatures alive long before that time, and that those
creatures evolved from other less developed creatures, and
that their evolutionary descendants possess odd anatomical
trademarks that point to a chaotic evolution as opposed to a
'designed' evolution - Dawkins - Laryngeal Nerve

2. Lack of Consistency - When do we ever hear of stories in
the contemporary age or even starting from the Enlightenment
period of Divine Intervention? It seems odd that mostly all
the founding fathers were Deists and came to the
understanding that the interplay between and a God and
humans in the Old Testament was no longer a reality. Did the
death of Christ mean the death of God's role and
communication with the inhabitants of Earth? It seems the
more modern interpretation of Divine interplay is always
just a skewed view of a natural occurence such as natural
disasters etc.

However there are some interesting findings when one tries
to filter through the long history of inaccuracy and
corruption to find important and reliable information
regarding the Theistic argument.

There was a Hebrew Rabbi - Physicist from the 13th century
who calculated the age of the universe and Earth that
actually concurs with the common interpretation. - href="http://www.yashanet.com/library/missing_link.htm"
target=_blank>Rabbi - universe age<

Lastly, I've been researching a lot of this stuff by reading
Josephus's historical accounts, by watching interviews and
debates by theologians, etc. There just seems to be almost
like an information trail when trying to find the truth
about the Judaic beliefs, and there's always 10 inaccuracies
for every 1 truth that is found. So people who claim to
'Know' there's a God, or 'Know' there isn't a god, seem to
be placing themselves in a limited space.

Though i think trying to find evidence for the bible by
using only the bible is a staple example of ignorant
circular reasoning, but how can a person really 'prove'
there is a God? If proof is just means of being able to
repeat something and observe it's repetition to establish
validity, doesn't it seem that a God would be void of those
physical restricitions?

That's why Deism makes the most sense in terms of any God in
this universe. Otherwise the belief is that there is a God
somewhere in the universe sitting on his throne somewhere
watching over us.

I just got this book by Howard Storm called, 'My descent
Into Death'. It's an account of the author's 'near-death
experience' and how he was either unconscious or legally
dead and descended to a hell like enviroment and eventually
was led up to heaven with Christ etc. I find it interesting
because before that event he was an atheist. now some people
say there is no real validity in a near death experience
because of brain trauma and dream like occurences. Also that
NDEs can be simulated by a lack of oxygen to the brain. Also
others have flatlined for longer periods of time and have
had no recolection of anything upon regaining consciousness.

whatever the ancient hebrews had in mind when they wrote the
book of genesis has most certainly no relevance whatsoever
with how we're treating the same subject today -- questions
surrounding the origin of the world, god, etc.

there's a difference of 5000 to 7000 years of development in
thought, culture, etc.

the whole modern debate is absurd and has become a parody of
itself.

Have you heard of the game of life

It's a mathematical thing from the 60's that shows that
complex things can be 'born' from really primitive input.

Not everyone believes the bible says the Earth/universe is

the game of life is a deterministic system. meaning that
for any given scenario you can predict an outcome. what
about the universe? is it a deterministic system? or a
nondeterministic one? this too is "off topic" but it makes
my brain think. also the moral consecuences of any attemp of
an answer to this question are interesting (more so if
people around you are discussing god and such things).

No, it's nondeterminism.

offline kei9 from Argentina on 2010-09-10 04:56 [#02392385]
Points: 417 Status: Lurker

well, it could be nondeterministic. some theories introduce
a big amount of chance and randomness in their explanations
(evolution theory, quantum physics), but that is not
conclusive. I think the "deternistic or not" universe
question is still a very metapshysical one.

I'd say that science as such are based on metaphysical
principles.

True. 'What is life' is a metaphysical and scientific
question. The metaphysical principle of science is
ontological naturalism, it cant be any other way because the
scientific method wouldnt work where god(s) interact with
this world.

anti-realist one, but it dosent really matter, not to
science at least.
