damn that review at absorb.org has got me excited!! i love
confield, but a little more melody would be swell, and it
seems that's what we're getting!!!

ya it should be ill, apparently it was made at the same
time as confield but didn't fit the mood should be more
upbeat i would think

It seems to be a couple remixes and a live thing. Or vise
versa.

Its been described as demented circus music. The vocal work
is suprising.

I've been an autechre fan for awhile and I still don't like
Confield. I don't think it's fantastic. I mean, cheers to
them for trying something new, but I don't think it worked
out very well. Anyone who likes Confield should check out
Coil's "How to Destroy Angels."

cool, just read the review and it sounds good... I think
Autechre are so damn amazing... they're so innovative and
progressive, yet they can make a ambient melody that'll
break your heart...

Autechre's my favs too, actually don't have any other
artists yet, Confield was the first Autechre i bought along
with Peel Session about 3 months ago, since i've gotten
Incunabula, Lp5 and Ep7. thanks for the tip spookyluke. i
think Confield is among the ranks of genius, its personality
perfectly defined and unique, be it somewhat dark/weird, i
would compare it to the likes of Hendrix or Bach, i mean
this is some next level shit!!!

Autechre and BoC are the pinnacle of electronic music for
me... Autechre because they constantly push the boundaries,
and BoC because their music is absolutely gorgeous, and
intoxicating...

No sweat!
Coil's How To Destroy Angels is from 83. So it's way before
Autechre. Autechre have admitted to being fans of
Coil--gotta love Coil.

The list has no end and it's all subjective anyway... I'd
put Bjork on there.

offline Taxidermist from Black Grass on 2002-04-09 03:02 [#00163517]
Points: 9958 Status: Lurker

Ummm. I don't know about bjork. She is nice and all, but her
voice is getting a wee bit old.

As far as out there electronic shit, I would put the orb
circa; Pommes Fritz and Orbvs Terrervm in there.

Yeah, good news! Autchre has sustained their role as
paradigm shifters in electronic music - or music in general
- for me as well.... They are one of my all time favorite
bands.
