Yo!
You may or may not remember I posted an album a while back. It wasn't quite finished and was one big long track. Here's the final version, about a minute longer with a fair amount of little bits and bobs changed. Feedback was good for the other version so I said I was going to do a CD that I'd send out for the cost of postage but I simply don't have the time or resources to do a bunch of hand made covers and get them all sent out. Maybe next time. As an apology I've made an entire album of remixes and demos and the like which you can also grab.
I put a lot of work in to this one and have written nearly 5000 words covering the two concepts behind the music and the thematic cohesion and parallels within the work but I won't bore you with all that here. Just enjoy it and give thansk and come backs if necessary.

I'd kind of like to read the essay behind the work actually, is it available somewhere? Thanks and I'll be downing the album when I get home from work.

Moon Base Seven: Transmissions Processed Review (Part 1)
We live in a world so diverse in belief that science fiction is a reality to some and legitimate scientific study a fiction to others. Somewhere between the science too nebulous to be understood and the fiction too dense to be credible, there is an amorphous middle-ground whose rules are lissome at best and whose borders tip-toe in equal measure to the realm of interstellar travel and the doldrums of the nine-to-five. Moon Base Seven's Transmissions Processed might best be described as all three possibilities shot through a particle accelerator and recorded direct to disk.
It has been written that the moon is a harsh mistress, but if these Transmissions have rubbed off on her, she is also aloof and warped; a practitioner of sadomasochism and beastiality. It is a wonder, then, that the denizens of her cold and desolate surface are not replete with vice and viciousness, but rather a desire to be loved, to be heard. Transmissions Processed is the chronicle of these forgotten robots' last-ditch attempt for recognition from their human creators.
The robots' musical legacy is comprised of driving rhythms - evidence of their steadfast ambition; stuttering vocal samples - their attempt to assemble meaningful ideas from flotsam transmissions; and an occasionally stilted, almost tangential approach to melody which might be interprated as the product of their confusion and naivete. Influences vary in the composition of both rhythm and melody, ranging in style from hip-hop to electro with dashes of odd electronics and fleeting moments of funk added to taste.

(Part 2)
The robotic children of the moon demonstrate a solid grasp of rhythm, either as a byproduct of having been created in man's image, or due to careful study of our musical leanings from decades of catalogued transmissions. Traditional hip-hop and techno-style beats are given a home here, as are more adventurous experimental arrangements of rhythmic sound. Regardless of whether these robots can dance, we can be certain that they hoped we would.
The vocal samples contained in Transmissions Processed are from some of Earth's most overtly trafficked media: public safety announcements and self-help videos, corporate product advertisements, snippets of entertainment television and cinema, and of course, pornography. While it is not clear whether this material was chosen as a critique of modern society or simply from perceived importance due to their sheer abundance, it does provide a familiar voice for the listener to identify with while simultaneously offering a reflection of Earth as seen by an outside observer.
Moon Base Seven is an appropriately eerie and disconcerting place, and much of the melody seems inspired by the apparitional, haunting landscape the Moon Base's staff call home. These robots are not without a sense of humor, however, and many light-hearted, downright groovy arrangements can be found. At times the melody works as a direct compliment to the beat, at others it seems an almost unexpected interference, as a distress signal received by a preoccupied vessel. There are moments where melody is relegated nearly entirely to the vocal arrangements, perhaps an auditory plea that the robots' message to humanity could be missed by a careless listener.

(Part 3: Conclusion)
As a result of this robotic correspondence, we are given a distinct picture of an alternate reality where early-era robots have risen above their metallic trappings to become more than simple creations: they are creators. The end result is at once human and alien, exactly as we might expect from man's metal progeny. Easily as imaginative as their human parents, these robots are the curators of an amalgam comprising the best and worst that humanity has to offer.

This is brilliant! I'm only part way through but loving it. First thought: I would pay money for this. Second thought: I want this on vinyl. Thoughts 1+2 = you know what to do!
I'm too lazy to write a review, but you can read the following at parties:
while(1){ printf("8=====D~~~\n"); }
Only the cool cats will get it, honest.

The requests for a release are very kind and as much as I would like to put out a vinyl (2 x 10", a three track suite on each side oh yes) I am completely broke. It would be a very nice vanity project though. Maybe I'll punt it to a label or two asking for nothing in return except a copy, who knows.
