Surf is one of the most amazing compositions I've ever heard.
Do you like Surf? Discuss.
It's on Field Recordings 1995:2002. I've had this CD for a while and as i played it, i just had to share my appreciation of this song.

Very nice man to speak to and I have a lot of respect for him. I don't like all his music, but he continues to develop a sound which is truly his.

Funny you should mention Fennesz, for Endless Summer was the inspiration for the Modern Classics thread. Late one recent listening, I imagined it sitting upon a Best Buy shelf with a discount sticker, "Sony Modern Classics Collection 9.99," and had a chuckle. It's a near perfect encapsulation of electronic music's millennial trends and Venice is not bad either. I'll have to check out this "Surf."

I don't know this song, but Fennesz really has a very distinct sound.
The new one, Black Sea, sounds great. Only heard samples though.

I wish he'd stop playing that dry acoustic guitar on top of those pretty textures, sometimes. The pieces that don't feature this one personal annoyance are mostly brilliant to me!
